My Ten Favorite Places In New York

1. Probably my favorite place in New York is the Met Museum. I love that you never have to stand in line and can just casually decide to go there and spend the afternoon. I also love that there is so many different kinds of art, you can look at impressionist paintings but as well visit the Egyptian wing or see an exact replica of a Moroccan patio in a Riad. I think you can learn a lot and this museum is one of the greatest there is. 2. When you are living in New York you will soon realize that the Central Park is as essential to your life as the air you are breathing. Literally, when you have passed a week between skyscrapers and in subway tunnels, you will feel like you can finally breathe again once you enter this amazing park. 3. In New York, like every other city probably you should spend your Saturdays with a lovely long brunch with friends before continuing to stroll around through your favorite neighborhood. A …

Must see in New York: Columbia University

On a beautiful autumn day we grabbed the chance to visit the main campus of the famous Columbia University (hello, Gossip Girl!). The whole area is really beautiful arranged, calm and worth visiting for an afternoon. Instantly you would love to study here just because of the relaxed atmosphere. It certainly feels like a different world than New York City – a get-away for heart and soul. Columbia University 116th St & Broadway New York, NY 10027 United States

Lunch in Washington: SKWR

Since my trip to Washington was just limited to one day, I had to choose in advance where I want to enjoy a good lunch. While searching I came across this place called SKWR kabobline where they serve the eastern art of kabob. At the beginning you choose between bowl (with rice) or wrap and then you start refine it: spreads (e.g. Hummus, Chutney), proteins (e.g. chicken, steak, lamb), toppings (e.g. chickpeas, mint) and sauces (e.g. pesto peste). Everything is freshly prepared and served with love. The meat is tender, the sauces diverse and the toppings delicious. Culture in Washington: National Gallery of Art

Through my Art History studies I knew that the National Gallery of Art in Washington had a lot of art but when I walked through the breath-taking building I was still mesmerized. The whole museum is so beautifully arranged and the pieces are delicately hanged or placed in the rooms. For a art fan a true bliss! But most of all I was fascinated by the East and West Garden Court – a tropical oasis were I just could have stayed forever. And best part? All of this is for f r e e! If you want to visit this museum make sure to plan your day around it. It takes time but is certainly worth it. Blogger Xmas Workshop

Last week we travelled to Hamburg for a day to participate in the annual blogger Xmas workshop designed around the P&G prestige perfumes. We enjoyed some DIY workshops that included designing our own christmas tree balls, gift boxes and cupcakes – all inspired by different perfume lines, namely James Bond 007, Christina Aguilera and Bruno Banani. It was a super fun day and really got us into the right mood for Christmas. Thanks for having us Headspace PR! Christmas Shopping – ho ho ho

Brunch in New York: Jack’s Wife Freda

New York has so many good brunch places – today we tried another. Jack’s Wife Freda is situated in New York’s cool West Village, on Lafayette Street and a total must for brunch fans like us. The menu serves classic american dishes with mediterranean influences. The atmosphere is familiar and everyone is extremely friendly. I also liked the simple but chic american bistro-like interior.
