Breakfast in Oxford: The Grand Café

The Grand Café in Oxford is a place I can warmly recommend. We went there for breakfast and were just stunned by the beautiful, opulence interior. During the day they serve breakfast, lunch, cream teas and high teas. In the evening you will be able to enjoy some cocktails with locals and University students. According to Samuel Pepys’ Diary (1650), The Grand Café is the site of the first coffee house in England and now an Oxford institution. In the pictures you can see the Scrambled eggs on toast (£4.95), the Grand English breakfast (£8.50) and two Lattes (each £3.25). It was all absolutely delicious! Dinner in Oxford: Jamie’s Italian

While staying in Oxford my boyfriend took me to the restaurant Jamie’s Italian. What comes to your mind when you hear this name? Yes, it’s Jamie Oliver, the famous british cook. The concept was founded in Oxford which is why we here have the first restaurant of this kind (but he himself was not there of course). However the dinner was absolutely delicious and don’t expect inflated prices. I enjoyed the salad called Market Superfood (small £5.95 / as main dish £10.95).This salad was filled with avocado, shaved fennel, candied beets, pulses, Italian sprouting broccoli, creamy cottage cheese, pomegranate, smashed nuts and seeds. Served with a fennel blossom Sicilian harissa. A real heaven! My boyfriend ate an italian steak with Italian-spiced skinny fries (£15.95). As drinks we head a non-alcoholic ginger mojito (£3.25) and a homemade lemonade (£2.95). Drinks in Oxford: The House

My boyfriend took me to this place when I was in Oxford in November. And I have to say: I loved it! The House is a bar located in the city center of Oxford. You get there through a narrow alley and will find an absolutely stylish place. The interior is classic and was also location to a Vogue photo shooting. Besides that it was listed on Elle magazines Top 25 Bars in 2010. Best time to go there is during their happy hour which runs from 5pm to 9pm Sunday to Thursday and 5pm to 8pm Friday and Saturday. Cocktails start from £3.95 during that time. For House beer and wine you pay around £2.95 Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ // Location ☆☆☆☆☆ // Taste ☆☆☆☆☆ The House Blue Boar St Oxford OX1 4EE Sunday to Wednesday / 5pm to Midnight Thursday, Friday and Saturday / 5pm till 1am What To Wear to this location

Oxford Photo Diary

Time is going so fast. These picture are already two months old but I still wanted to share them with you since I will be going back to Oxford next week to visit my boyfriend. A few years ago I lived close to Oxford for three and a half years which somehow makes this city a really important part of my life. I enjoyed coming back and I’m looking forward to being there again in a couple of days. (Got to eat fish and chips, again!)

Breakfast in Oxford: Vaults & Garden Cafe

In Oxford I had the absolut pleasure to enjoy a delicious breakfast at The Vaults & Garden Cafe housed in Oxford Universitie’s Old Congregation House of 1320. My boyfriend opt for the full breakfast. Meaning organic eggs, air-cured free-range bacon, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms & toasted artisan bread coasting £5.45 in total. While I decided to go for some scrambled eggs on toast (artisan bread) paying £3.75 for this delicious dish. As a drink we had a big pot of English breakfast tea which is called Leaf Tea for two if you will be looking for that on their menu (price £3.55). Besides that we also tried their delicious gluten-free and vegan chocolate brownie for £2.50 – it was a true sensation! At The Vaults & Garden you can also enjoy lunch and afternoon-tea with scones, homemadejam and clotted cream.
