Culture in Amsterdam: La Dame Aux Camélias

Going out to see a Ballet performance is one of our favorite things to do together. So of course we couldn’t miss the beautiful performance of “La Dame Aux Camélias” by the Het National Ballet. The performance was breath-taking, we were so captivated by the exceptional choreography, which displayed very powerful, emotional moves. Apart from this, the National Opera and Ballet of Amsterdam is an extraordinary building with a view on the canals at sunset. Boots – Zara Jacket – H&M Bag – Louis Vuitton

Home sweet home. There is no place like Berlin and no better thing than being home for a few days to spend quality time with my favorite blog partner. Some days ago, we finally managed to visit the Mario Testing “In Your Face” exhibition in Berlin. Mario Testino is definitely the pop star of fashion photography and his shots always capture extraordinary moments in the sparkling world of celebrities. Baroque Moments

We both are jewelry lovers which is why we are more than happy to share these delicate pieces with you. Finding the right accessories is not easy and it can take years until you have found the appropriate jewelry fitting your style and your mood. Choosing jewelry everyday can be really nerve-racking and somehow you get used to the same necklace, the same pair of earrings or the same bracelet. A routine kicks in. Therefore it is really important to add the one or other new piece to your treasure box so you can sometimes get rid of your normal pattern. “I dream my painting and I paint my dream.”

On Thursday I finally met Dean from PickledThoughts. A very talented and vibrant photographer based in Berlin who was looking for a dancer to take some snaps with. The little photo-session turned out to be a super great morning in Berlin. Normally I am unhappy with dancing pictures of myself but these have truly captured my heart since they show me as a person, who I really am and what my passion is. I’m faraway from being a perfect dancer, which is certainly why I love dancing so much: you will never reach the finish line. Always find something to work on, to improve. Dancing is certainly never easy and for me just half the effort is not enough. I really push myself to a limit. Normally I train 5 times a week and on the weekend do my own home workout. Told you… always on the run. Check Deans official page for some more pictures taken by him! We will be working on more fun projects together.

Culture in Berlin: Hamburger Bahnhof

Yesterday we headed towards the Hamburger Bahnhof, a museum for contemporary art, displaying pieces by artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Joseph Beuys and many others. We really enjoyed some of the works while others were rather questionable. At some point it’s hard to like modern art even when you try to get a grip of the artists mind. It really depends on the way how it captures once minds. The outfit Jana is wearing is a day to night combination. For the day just throw a fluffy cardigan over a super skinny dress, add some bling with a glittery necklace and chose some mid heeled booties. For night leave the cardigan in the car and go for some killer heels. Put on some metallic eyeshadow and your ready for a night out. Dress – H&M Cardigan – Zalando Collection Necklace – NoaNoa

Culture in Berlin: Gemäldegalerie

When you start studying Art History you simply can’t avoid to go to the museum. The Gemäldegalerie is an art museum and holds one of the world’s leading collections of European art from the 13th to the 18th centuries. You can find masterpieces from artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Lucas Cranach, Hans Holbein, Jan van Eyck, Raphael, Caravaggio, Rubens, Rembrandt and Vermeer. Just to name a few.

Goodbye 2012

The year has been so amazing and equally absolutely shocking. We finished school and started a new life.  From highs to lows everything was packed into the past months. The pictures here just slightly capture the whole impressions and experiences we have made. Life has tested and challenged us in every possible way… We would like to Thank You for all the support over the years and wish  you a great start into 2013. Make the best out of it!

Culture in Berlin: Berliner Liste

Last week we were invited to the Opening Party of the art fair Berliner Liste (thanks to PEO).  We got a glimpse of the work presented there (did you see them on Twitter?!) and enjoyed  some techno sounds at the Tresor Club which is located in the same building. We sadly couldn’t snap some more pictures of the art, since it wasn’t allowed to take pictures.
