Shopping & Food in Berlin: The Store

The Store in Berlin is a unique concept, which is mixing gastronomy, co-working and shopping. It is a hang-out for startup founders and freelancers, spending their day working on their MacBooks and sipping cappuccinos. It also is a store for modern street style, decorative items, books and music. And lastly, if that wasn’t enough already, it’s a restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The lunch always consists of five different salads, that go together in a bowl and are always healthy and delicious. I can also highly recommend their cold-pressed juices, which are actually made by hand and on-site in a small juicery truck – try the Beetroot, Pineapple, Ginger! Healthy in Berlin: Superfoods & Organic Liquids

It is no secret that healthy food is big in Berlin. If you walk down Weinbergsweg in Mitte, you’ll find one organic food store after the other. Superfoods & Organic Liquids is one of them. The store is small but has a stylish interior and nice menu variety for the size of the café. I really liked that there were different fruit toppings to their bircher mueslis or chia puddings, either raspberry acai or mango. I can also recommend the coffee with a huge matcha or chocolate cookie on the side! Breakfast in Berlin: What do you fancy love?

Somehow this place has become one of those in-spots to meet your friends and enjoy a Detox juice. Located in City West, What do you fancy love? offers a wide range of fresh juices, delicious coffee specialties and yummy bagels. Its packed everyday and you will experience various people popping in and rushing out with their healthy treat. The prices are fair and the things they offer are delightful. Nevertheless you sometimes feel a little observed by the other guest who scan you from head to toe. Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ // Location ☆☆☆☆☆ // Taste ☆☆☆☆☆ What do you fancy love? Breakfast in London: Briki

Briki is a Greek breakfast café and deli situated in the east of London. They offer a delicious granola with greek yoghurt, fruits and honey, as well as some baked goods and coffee. Besides their breakfast card they offer a nice lunch menu, also for take-away (the price is a little lower then). It is a cozy and simple spot for a quick breakfast or a coffee in the morning. You really must try their award winning coffee which is roasted from high-quality green coffee beans. Acai-Bowl

One of our obsessions since New York are Acai bowls. After we tried the Acai bowl at TwoHands we were more than willing to try it ourselves and share it with you. Here is what you need: one frozen banana, 100g frozen raspberries, 75ml almond milk (you can also go for soy or coconut milk) and one tablespoon Acai powder, fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries – it’s up to you), granola, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and nuts. How to make: Freeze a banana (cut into pieces) one night in advance. Add the banana, frozen raspberries, almond milk and Acai powder to a mixer and blend. Serve in a bowl. Garnish with the remaining ingredients. Shop some bowls

Breakfast in Berlin: Distrikt Coffee

Steadily the breakfast spots in Berlin are growing and improving. One, very instagramable place, is Distrikt Coffee closely located to the subway station Nordbahnhof. We have already seen a few pictures on the social media platforms and figured it was time to visit the café. They serve a delicious breakfast even though the portions are not very big and you certainly need more than one if you really want to be satisfied. Also the coffee pots aren’t really huge and quickly cool out. But everything tastes really good. Nevertheless because of the price this isn’t an everyday place to enjoy. The interior is cozy and the people hanging around here are typical Berlin inhabitants or tourists who stumbled across the place on Instagram. Brunch in London: German Gymnasium

It is safe to say that London is heaven for brunch lovers. There are countless nice places offering the best food, whether it is the classic English breakfast, intercontinental, healthy, exotic or French… This time we went out for brunch with family and friends at the German Gymnasium, nearby King’s Cross station. The interior is super nice and the food as well. We can recommend the granola, even though it comes with only a tiny bit of yoghurt so you’ll probably have to order some extra yoghurt! Breakfast in New York: Kellogg’s Diner

When you are in the United States you should at least once go to a typical American diner. In New York, we went to Williamsburg-based Kellogg’s Diner and it was awesome! Get one of the breakfast specials and make sure to take a lot of maple syrup with your pile of pancakes! Brunch in New York: Jack’s Wife Freda

New York has so many good brunch places – today we tried another. Jack’s Wife Freda is situated in New York’s cool West Village, on Lafayette Street and a total must for brunch fans like us. The menu serves classic american dishes with mediterranean influences. The atmosphere is familiar and everyone is extremely friendly. I also liked the simple but chic american bistro-like interior. Breakfast in Berlin: Quchnia

Last week I headed out to have breakfast at Quchnia, one of Berlin’s most elegant Cafés in a prime location. It is situated at Gendarmenmarkt, directly facing the concert hall. The food is delicious and of high quality, all dishes are appetizingly presented and freshly made. The menu offers a wide variety of breakfasts, different bites like organic sourdough bread or quiches and soups. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and friendly service.
