Breakfast in Munich: LAX Eatery

When I stepped into this little café in Munich I instantly felt like being back in New York again, enjoying a good brunch morning with Jana. Lax Eatery tries to convey the American west-coast feeling with palms and American road signs on the walls plus serving breakfast all day long. Also the food they serve seems really American inspired: fresh smoothies, blueberry pancakes, egg burritos and bread with smashed avocado. The menu is small but well organized and you easily find something. The place is small and on a Sunday morning pretty packed but we didn’t need to wait, one table was available straight away. My friend and I each went for the egg burritos and added extra avocado. As a sweet sensation we share the blueberry pancakes which were super fluffy. The coffee was good and their homemade ice tea really refreshing. All in all I can recommend this place. Maybe not for a big group of people (because of the space and their amount of big tables) but with a friend or alone …

Breakfast in Potsdam: BioBackHaus

Sometimes you just need a quick breakfast spot in town where you can enjoy a good coffee and some on-the-go snacks. The BioBackHaus ist located in the center of Potsdam, really close to the Dutch Quarter (a sight-seeing sensation in Potsdam). Back when we went to school, we quite often dropped by and got a bread roll or a piece of cake here since it was just around the corner from our main building. They serve bio products produced in Berlin and Brandenburg. Mainly they have focused on baked goods but for their breakfast offer they also have yogurt with fruits, scrambled eggs and cold cuts. The buns, bread slices and cake pieces are really delicious and also perfect to take-away. Of course the price range is a little higher than at a normal bakery but sometimes you can afford to get something here. Come here early in the morning on a sunny day and enjoy your coffee outside, sun-bathing including. Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ // Location ☆☆☆☆☆ // Taste ☆☆☆☆☆ no wifi available …

Zurich Photo Diary

It has long been my dream to visit Switzerland, especially Zurich. Mainly, that was because some of my closest friends from the time when I lived in Paris, live in Zurich and I long wanted to visit them! That’s why for Halloween weekend, we headed to Zurich and discovered the city with them! Zurich is a small and calm, but very romantic and charismatic city. If the weather is nice, you can visit Uetliberg, which is a beautiful mountain on which you can view the whole city from above. You should also just plan a long walk along Zurich lake, preferably on a Sunday since everything else will be closed on that day. Another really common tradition is to have an Apero, which is kind of an Aperitif at home, where you invite friends over for some snacks and wine before heading out to dinner or a bar. Altogether, Zurich is definitely worth a visit and the local culture is a very warm and welcoming one! What To Wear for an autumn day in …

Coffee in New York: Ost Café NYC

Heading to East Village during my last visit to New York made me check out Ost Café, a cozy little spot located on the corner 12th Street / Avenue A. They serve freshly brewed coffee and little sweet treats. The café is packed with people who want to enjoy a coffee and work on their laptops (home away from home as I would call it). I really liked the taste of the coffee nevertheless I didn’t try something of their food pieces since I thought they were a little too expensive. Dinner in Palma: l’ambigú

During my short getaway to Palma we came across this little restaurant. Hidden behind a church in the old town of Palma l’ambigú offers a good selection of tapas and other main dishes. All three of us went for the same dish since it just sounded too good. As you can see in the pictures we had a burger toped with goats cheese and avocado cream, french fries, slices of corn and a salad consisting of small tomatoes and red cabbage. Thanks to the warm evening we were able to sit outside and enjoy the calmness of this location. If you want to enjoy a dinner here, we highly recommend to make a reservation beforehand. Otherwise you can wait between 30 minutes and an hour to get hold of a table. Bread&Butter 2016

New concept, new owner, new location. The Bread&Butter tradeshow has gone through a whole lot of changes and refreshingly enters the fashion world stage this year at Berlins Arena. Newest innovation? The tradeshow (now owned by Zalando) is open to the public. Throughout the years it has been a by-invitation-event-only over the past years, this has been changed and is now accessible to everyone interested in the fashion hype. Direct interaction with the brands and the possibility to buy the newest pieces straight-away (also new!) encourages the fashion crowd to travel to Alt-Treptow, Berlin. We enjoyed some quality time together and had the chance to indulge in some good conversations with the girls from Fleek. Bread&Butter by Zalando 2nd – 4th September 2016 Arena Berlin Eichenstraße 4, 12435 Berlin Germany Opening hours Friday, 2nd September: 4pm – midnight Saturday and Sunday, 3rd and 4th September: 1pm – midnight What To Wear to this location [show_shopthepost_widget id=“1907139″]

Breakfast in Berlin: The Klub Kitchen

Some days ago we went to The Klub Kitchen to try out their granola, which is supposed to be very good. Unfortunately, even at 11 am there was no granola available because it was still in the making… However, we then opted for an avocado rye bread toast with A LOT of salad. It was nice but maybe a little sour. Nevertheless, The Klub Kitchen is a nice hang-out if you are searching for a quick coffee and minimalistic design. Sweet Treat in Leipzig: Marshalls Mum

During a short weekend get-away to Leipzig I visited this cute litte café serving delicious sweet treats. Marshalls Mum is located in the south of Leipzig and offers a welcoming atmosphere. They are mainly known for their cupcakes (also vegan ones) but also offer fresh cakes, brownies and macaroons. The coffee they serve has a really good flavor and along normal milk they also offer soy and oat milk. If you plan to visit on the weekend I recommend to make a reservation. Briki is a Greek breakfast café and deli situated in the east of London. They offer a delicious granola with greek yoghurt, fruits and honey, as well as some baked goods and coffee. Besides their breakfast card they offer a nice lunch menu, also for take-away (the price is a little lower then). It is a cozy and simple spot for a quick breakfast or a coffee in the morning. Food & Shopping in London: Spitalfields Market

The first couple of times I visited London, I did not even know the Shoreditch area. But when I found out, I was simply amazed! I love this edgy and cool side of London and in particular the Spitalfields market. I love to go there on sundays, even though it is quite crowded. But the many different food, arts and clothing stands are worth it. [show_shopthepost_widget id=“1540288″]
