Dinner in Berlin: Dae Mon

Last weekend we tried out a Korean place called Dae Mon, situated at Monbijouplatz in Mitte. The food is contemporary Koraen and prepared in an open kitchen. We mostly liked that there was an interesting variety of dishes that were innovative and tasty. And we can highly recommend their Pale Ale! Dinner in Berlin: The Butcher

Last week we gladly followed an invitation to have dinner at The Butcher in Charlottenburg, near  Savingyplatz. It was a fun night with a handful of other foodie bloggers from in and around Berlin! What we loved most about the restaurant is it’s design: when you enter there is a long counter and the walls have white tiles (just like a real butcher shop!). The next room is a super modern library with some food and design books leading to a winter garden facing the patio. What is so special about the interior design is that there is an open kitchen that you can see from the inside and the outsite. You can actually see the cooks preparing meat in the windows facing the street. I think that is a perfect idea to attract guests! Apart from the nice interior we enjoyed some serious burgers, fries, ribs and corn poppers. Also, I love the fact that there is Brooklyn Lager on the beer menu! Breakfast in Berlin: The Klub Kitchen

Some days ago we went to The Klub Kitchen to try out their granola, which is supposed to be very good. Unfortunately, even at 11 am there was no granola available because it was still in the making… However, we then opted for an avocado rye bread toast with A LOT of salad. It was nice but maybe a little sour. Nevertheless, The Klub Kitchen is a nice hang-out if you are searching for a quick coffee and minimalistic design. Dinner in Palma: The Boat House

While staying in Palma we tried to test various restaurants for dinner. Normally I like to check Instagram for recommended spots but this time we just strolled through town to find some nice places. One of those was this spot, located at the port of Palma. The Boat House offers meat, fresh fish, salads, pasta and risotto dishes. If you are three or more people I can highly recommend a jag of sangria to share. It just underlines the great location. I had a vegetable risotto which was delicious. The vegetables which came along with the fish were a little too oily but overall a good seaside dish. The atmosphere in the evening was just great and super relaxing. It really is a nice spot to visit with some friends, have a cocktail and let the day end in a good way. Lunch in Berlin: Cecconi’s

This week I was finally able to try out Cecconi’s, newest extension to Soho House Berlin. The restaurant serves fine Italian food and has an extensive menu satisfying every taste. We enjoyed a wide variation of dishes and can definitely recommend the meatballs, tatar and grilled fish. Apart from the excellent food, I love Cecconi’s interior, which is a gathering of huge, red chesterfield sofas, heavy wooden tables and giant chandeliers, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Brunch in Berlin: Roamers

Yesterday, I finally visited Berlin’s insta famous brunch café Roamers for a work meeting. I can definitely say, the hype is real! People were standing in line for breakfast on an ordinary Tuesday morning, normally I only experienced such behavior in New York City, where it’s absolutely normal to wait one hour to get some overpriced avocado toast – but that’s a different story. Roamers is small but cozy, dishes are somewhat arranged in a messy but photogenic way. However, most importantly, the food tastes great. We had the granola with fresh berries and the classic avocado toast with poached eggs and I think both tasted fabulous. Healthy in Berlin: Superfoods & Organic Liquids

It is no secret that healthy food is big in Berlin. If you walk down Weinbergsweg in Mitte, you’ll find one organic food store after the other. Superfoods & Organic Liquids is one of them. The store is small but has a stylish interior and nice menu variety for the size of the café. I really liked that there were different fruit toppings to their bircher mueslis or chia puddings, either raspberry acai or mango. I can also recommend the coffee with a huge matcha or chocolate cookie on the side! Dinner in Kopenhagen: Streetfood

Our hottest tip for Kopenhagen and one of the coolest places I know: the street food market on Paper island. When the weather is sunny, you can sit outside nearby the water, a DJ is playing cool tunes and there is the most delicious food and drinks inside. You’ll find food stands from all over the world, my favorite was the brioche pulled pork burger (soaking but so delicious!) and of course the cheesecake stand (strawberry!!!). You’ll get there taking the “water bus” in two minutes.

Food in Copenhagen: Torvehallerne

When in Kopenhagen you should definitely visit the Torvehallerne, a high end food market that offers many different food stands of either already prepared food or luxurious groceries. There is a small patio between the two market halls, that also hosts food and drinking stands as well as a small farmer’s market and colorful flower stands.
