Breakfast in Leipzig: Café Luise

During my short trip to Leipzig we had breakfast at Café Luise, a spacious spot offering breakfast, lunch, cake and dinner. You see, an all-rounder. We came here on a Saturday morning and had made a reservation beforehand since we were seven people in total and it wouldn’t have been easy to get a table for that amount of people. If you just want to drop in alone or with a friend you shouldn’t have a problem to get a table with a little wait. It wasn’t full that morning. All of us ordered different dishes. I wasn’t that hungry and decided to just go for some scrambled eggs and a roll. Others decided to try the English breakfast, pancakes or a Swedish breakfast mainly serving fish. Since I jus opt for this simple dish I can’t give you such a detailed insight to their breakfast. It was good but not overwhelming. The other dishes looked good but nothing we haven’t seen already. I somehow missed the little twist and felt everything was a little …

Staying in Leipzig: Downtown Apartments Leipzig

When traveling to different cities we have experienced that renting an apartment can be a quite good alternativ to a normal hotel. Which is why there have been plopping up so many new renting concepts around various cities. About a week and a half ago, a friend and I took the chance and headed to Leipzig. All planed as a surprise for another friend who just finished her final university examination in order to become a dentist. We wanted to surprise her and come to her graduation ball without letting her know. A few weeks before we browsed through the internet and my friend spotted the apartments called Downton Apartments Leipzig. The pictures got us instantly and we made a reservation with Rebekka, the owner of the apartments. Our first call was easy-going and she already seemed to be a welcoming person. The day we arrived, Rebekka was there to welcome us and give us an exclusive insight to the apartment complex. It was so nice to meet her in person and get to know …

Dinner in Munich: Servus Heidi

I‘m actually not such a big fan of traditional Bavarian food because it’s mostly heavy on the stomach. But when you are in Munich for the first time I guess it is an obligation to try it out. My best friend checked through the online portal TripAdvisor were she found this restaurant called Servus Heidi. They serve traditional Bavarian food but interpreted them in a new way. It’s located a little outside of the city center but easy to reach with the subway. When we got there the place was packed. We didn’t make a reservation in advance but when you head here on a Friday or Saturday night make sure to reserve a table beforehand. Just in order to avoid waiting for half an hour. But since we had time it was really nice to sit at the bar and enjoy a pre drink plus already flicking through their menu. It’s not  big menu which is always a good sign since the small amount of dishes they make are mostly good. My friend went …

Breakfast in Munich: LAX Eatery

When I stepped into this little café in Munich I instantly felt like being back in New York again, enjoying a good brunch morning with Jana. Lax Eatery tries to convey the American west-coast feeling with palms and American road signs on the walls plus serving breakfast all day long. Also the food they serve seems really American inspired: fresh smoothies, blueberry pancakes, egg burritos and bread with smashed avocado. The menu is small but well organized and you easily find something. The place is small and on a Sunday morning pretty packed but we didn’t need to wait, one table was available straight away. My friend and I each went for the egg burritos and added extra avocado. As a sweet sensation we share the blueberry pancakes which were super fluffy. The coffee was good and their homemade ice tea really refreshing. All in all I can recommend this place. Maybe not for a big group of people (because of the space and their amount of big tables) but with a friend or alone …

Touch of Pink

It’s one week left until the Moët Party Day – we’re counting! However, this weekend is going to be less glamorous… We will both be working on Saturday and hopefully enjoy the sun on Sunday a little. About this look: the dress is my new favorite summer dress, the kind that you will throw over in seconds as soon as the sun comes out and instantly feel good in! I combined it with my small everyday-bag and some summer sandals. Dress – Mango Bag – Furla Shoes – Zara

North Sea coast

Germany offers some delicate weekend-getaway destinations. Over the years I think many people have realized this and especially the German people start to explore their country. A few weeks ago I spent a weekend at the North Sea, the weather could have been a little better but the seaside is still a beautiful place even when it’s raining. Somehow it’s easier to except a bad weather day here than anywhere else. What to pack
