Outdoor in Berlin: Haubentaucher

When it’s summer time in Berlin, it comes down to a limited amount of places to hang out and enjoy the warm weather. The current hype is with this location called “Haubentaucher” situated near Warschauer Straße. The area is stylish and clean, has a big refreshing pool and several bars where one can enjoy soul food and drinks. It is the perfect location to sunbath and listen to cool electro music. At night or during the weekend local DJs will make you dance to cool tunes and the sun deck turns into a hip event location. Check out their events schedule here. Dinner in Berlin: Grace

Before or after fashion week events, it is always nice to have a relaxed dinner with friends, preferably in a place that has a great atmosphere. The restaurant Grace at Hotel Zoo is such a cozy and elegant place, where you can enjoy fabulous food and enchanting conversations. We can highly recommend their creamy rock shrimps as a starter, their roasted salmon with wasabi-pea puree and definitely the NY cheesecake as a perfect finish. Breakfast in Berlin: Grand Café Cappuccino

The area around Kurfürstendamm is predestined to enjoy the sun, sip a coffee and have a lovely breakfast with a good friend. The Grand Café Cappuchino, the extension of restaurant institutions like Petrocelli, is a perfect spot to do just this. Last time, we both enjoyed the fitness breakfast and it was a real treat. Definitely another favorite brunch and breakfast spot in Berlin! Sweet Treat in Berlin: Der Cupcakeladen

During the extend 1st of May weekend I took the chance with a friend to try a cupcake store in Berlin called Der Cupcakeladen. I already heard from the place and was curious on trying it. A small place with a cute, girly interior is the location you will step into. Their product range is changing daily and you will be able to choose from typical cupcakes and even vegan ones. The taste of the cupcakes was fine but in my opinion not outstanding. A big one costs 2.70 € and a Mini one 1.50 € – a fair price range. Outdoor in Berlin: Karneval der Kulturen

Two years ago we also made a post about this annual happening street festival. But it’s just too much fun not to share it once more with you. Along with some pictures from our day around the carnival we also share with you an #ootd you could easily copy and wear to the occasion. Essential for getting through such a day is wearing the right pair of shoes. And as you can see our girls made their choice – Nikes sneakers all the way. Then another key piece we agreed on was to wear a leather jacket but no matter in which color or leather. What should be in your bag? Besides the typical things like money, mobile and identity card you should pack a little deodorant, some plasters, a package of hankies and some chewing gum. Add this to your shopping list

Lunch in Berlin: Shiso Burger

Already pretty famous in Berlin this is the place for some good (Shiso) Burgers. If you come here you can indulge in some delicious food. During lunch they offer a great deal: you pay the price of the burger plus 3.10 € extra and you will get the burger, fries and a drink. I went for the Cheeseburger, costing 4.60 € – which means in total I paid 7.70 € and was absolutely satisfied after this meal. Only problem if you come here make sure you have enough time. During their busy hours (between 1 and 2pm) it can take up to 45 minutes until the burger is ready. Drinks in Berlin: Monkey Berlin

The Monkey Bar is another hotspot situated in the west of Berlin. It has a gorgeous view through all it’s wide glass windows and is aptly named “Monkey Bar”, since you are able to observe the monkeys of the Berlin Zoo from up there. The Monkey bar serves delicious drinks (try the Gin Basil Smash or the homemade lemonade) and some bar snacks like sweet potato fries or Caesar salad. However, here’s a fair warning: the Monkey Bar has been recommended in many travel guides thus it tends to be really crowded on weekends and nights in general. So either decide to go early or schedule a bit of waiting time – the view and atmosphere is worth it. Coffee in Berlin: Café Neundrei

A couple of days ago I attended the opening of the Café Neundrei a place where you will find delicious coffee and vegan treats. Since more people are becoming aware of their daily nutrition we love to share this location with you. For your coffee you can choose between normal milk, soya milk, lactose-free milk and almond milk (coasting 50cents extra). Also, next to the normal coffee treats, you will be able to find Matcha Latte (€ 3.80), Chai Latte (€ 3.20) and some Superfood Smoothies (€ 4.50). Along with a delicious coffee you should definitely enjoy a vegan bread with fresh filling such as avocado, spinach leaves and cress (starting at € 3.90). Also their vegan apple cake or their banana bread is worth a try – a freshly baked by themselves. Brunch in Berlin: Spreegold

Sundays are made for late and long breakfast/brunch sessions. Yesterday I headed to the under Berlin inhabitants pretty well-known Spreegold where they serve fresh food and drinks all day long. However I was keen on trying their breakfast and honestly, it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ate the Spreegold’s Brunch “The Best” plate (€ 18,50) and had a Green Mint Iced Tea (€ 3,80) as a refreshment. I had a bowl of whole milk yoghurt with granola and fresh fruits (€ 4,50) as well as Buttermilk pancakes with fruits, sour cream and maple syrup (€ 7,90). As a drink I just ordered a plain Caffé Latte (€ 3,50). All in all it was really yummy but as you can see what each dish and drink costs you can tell what we payed for it in total. Not a weekly indulgence! Of course you can also choose something different from the menu but mainly the breakfast plates start at € 7,50 and up. Another thing which will give this spot a tiny minus point was the speed of the staff. Two guys were running …

Brunch in Berlin: Set’s

Set’s is the typical morning/noon hangout for late brunchers on a sunday but also the perfect place to have a coffee or lunch during working days. Set’s offers self-made sourdough bread with different spreads – one more delicious than the other. Also, try their Bircher Müsli and fresh fruit salad!
