Oktoberfest Special

On Saturday it’s that time of the year again. The world’s biggest Volksfest will open it’s gates in Munich. Hello, Wiesn – hello, Oktoberfest! Since 1810 these festivities are annually held in Munich but since a few years this tradition has also swept over to other areas. Also in Berlin and Potsdam are many events taking place in the next few weeks under the theme “Oktoberfest”. Jana traditionally heads to the Oktoberfest hosted by the Café am Neuen See, which took place the past weekend. Here she has collected some impressions for you to get you in the mood. The Statement Jacket

A classical, well suited jacket can turn any outfit into a sensation. This summer we both had fun in trying out some more daring ones in order to give our everyday looks a little twist. In the heart of Güntzelkiez in Wilmersdorf, we found this small and cozy shop called “Bellwinkel”. The store offers a wide variety of small things, that make your life more beautiful – interesting cookbooks, colorful spoons, cooking equipment, candles, teas, chocolates, spices, nice dishes… The particular: all goods are neatly arranged by colors. During lunchtime, Bellwinkel provides a new lunch menu every day. Apart from that, they also do catering. Furla Acero

Newest addition to my wardrobe… After wanting a chic, simple and elegant clutch that can go with every outfit, I finally decided to get a Furla Metropolis bag. It’s beige, to be more specific the color is “acero” with some light golden details. The inside is crafted with soft, beige suede and some rivets are supporting the bag from underneath. Dear Furla Metropolis, I love your simple and chic design, that you go with every outfit and I am already looking forward to spending the summer with you!

Shopping in Berlin: Schee

I love to discover new little boutiques and shops in my neighborhood. One store that I recently stumbled across is Schee, located in Bleibtreustraße. So we went to check it out last weekend. The store is a lovely mix of interior and decoration accessories, cards and books, prints and textiles. In my opinion one of the addresses to go for when you’re searching for a present for a friend or family member! We really liked how elaborate and carefully selected the selection of items was – every piece was special! They also have another store in Berlin located at Rosenthaler Straße (close to the underground station Rosenthaler Platz, Mitte). We definitely want to visit that one too. Easter is just around the corner and in case you’re still searching for a little present for your loved ones – we have got you covered! These mini eggs by Berger Feinste Confiserie are not only super cute looking but also taste like heaven! There are even experimental flavors like milk chocolate filled with carrot and honey or even dark chocolate with red smoothie inside! All mini eggs are packed in a small egg box, decorated with small bunnies and a hidden message. All delicious chocolates are handmade in Berger’s own chocolate manufactory, situated in Lofer, Austria. It’s time for another update on our three favorite beauty products of February. Detox Mask Tonerde Absolue by L’oréal The new detox masks by L’oréal have been advertised largely. Nevertheless, I have to say that they convinced me. I try to use the mask once a week (on Sundays there is always some beauty time!) and I can feel an effect. My skin feels clearer and more balanced. Perfect Match Highlighter by L’oréal  When I was on a girl’s weekend in Palma de Mallorca this year, a friend of mine introduced me to the perks of highlighter. I’m not that much of a make-up girl in terms of concealer, foundation or rouge (I always try to let my skin breathe as much as possible!) but I couldn’t argue that a little sparkle on the cheek bone adds to a more fresh and beautiful face, instantly. The first month of the year is coming to an end and we are happy to share some of our favorite beauty / accessories additions with you. Half-moon necklace from H&M I bought this little cute necklace last week since it perfectly matches my kind-off jewelry obsession. It’s delicate, a little sparkly and offers a nice highlight to any casual outfit combination. Real Techniques makeup brushes These brushes make the application of makeup fun and easy. The brush itself is soft and the brand offers a good variety of products. Great quality for a great price. They are not as expensive as the Zoeva brushes but just as good. Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days nail polish Super easy to apply and a nice shade (Rose Veil nr. 882) for the season. I have not tried if they really stay for 7 days but it worked for three.

Boss The Scent is the smell of a hard-working, cosmopolitan, sensual, elegant and strong woman. When I first smelled the fragrant, I was instantly hooked and thought it was the perfect combination of sexy and sweet. It is quite intense and has a note of cocoa. I also instantly liked the elegant bottle, it somehow reminds me of New York’s skyscrapers like the Empire State Building and I have to think about the time I lived in that huge and mesmerizing city not so long ago… What To Wear with this scent

Shopping & Food in Berlin: The Store

The Store in Berlin is a unique concept, which is mixing gastronomy, co-working and shopping. It is a hang-out for startup founders and freelancers, spending their day working on their MacBooks and sipping cappuccinos. It also is a store for modern street style, decorative items, books and music. And lastly, if that wasn’t enough already, it’s a restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The lunch always consists of five different salads, that go together in a bowl and are always healthy and delicious. I can also highly recommend their cold-pressed juices, which are actually made by hand and on-site in a small juicery truck – try the Beetroot, Pineapple, Ginger!
