Coffee in Berlin: Kaffeemitte

A coffee break is just one of those things we really need on a long day or in-between a shopping trip. Energy comes back to the body and you can recover. There are many beautiful cafés in Berlin and you somehow get the feeling that Berlin is a coffee-city. If you are hanging around Hackescher Markt this café place is just the right one. Kaffeemitte is always filled with people and you can feel that this really is a typical Berlin Szene café. But nevertheless it’s worth a visit. They serve some delicious cakes (€ 2 – 4) and if you are rather looking for something hearty you can chose between some Paninis (€ 6 – 7,50) and other daily dishes (Salads and Pasta). Breakfast is also available. A Latté Macchiacto costs € 3,10 and is enough to satisfy your appetite. When the weather is good you can sit outside and watch tourists and Berliners go by. Lunch in Berlin: Papaya

We decided to share a new category with you on our blog. From now on you will find some handy tipps and hints for your stay in Berlin. Places you must see, where you can eat or enjoy a coffee. Just click the hashtag #berlinguide and all related posts will pop-up. And with this, straight into the substance. Papaya is a Thai restaurant located on the Kantstraße in the district Charlottenburg. From the outside one would probably not choose this place, there are others which look more appealing. However it is definitely worth a try. First you should order a lime juice with some crushed ice, super refreshing and costs only € 2,40. Then you really need some time to figure out what to eat, the menu offers many different dishes. I went for wheat noodles with green curry and chicken costing € 6,90. If you want to eat spicy, here is the place for you. Around lunch time (1pm) the restaurant became pretty full, so come a bit before or after one. Price $$$$$ // …

A CityWest Shopping Guide for Hotel Concorde

When Hotel Concorde came along with the idea that we could create a Berlin City West Shopping Guide for their blog it was hard to resist the chance. We selected a hand full of stores located on and around Kurfürstendamm which we visited on a Saturday afternoon to snap some pictures. Afterwards we had the chance to dine in the Brasserie Le Faubourg. Our store list: Bücherbogen Amorph BCBG Max Azria Mulberry Strenesse See the whole article on the Hotel Concorde Blog

Sweet Treat in Berlin: Youghurt

You know we love food (and taking pictures of food). For some years now we noticed that people around us try to eat more healthy and keep an eye on what is in their food. When Jan from Youghurt invited us over to try their Müsli (cereals), frozen yoghurt, smoothies and fresh toppings we couldn’t resist. You come in and chose everything yourself and how much of each topping you want. In the end you pay by weight (100g = € 1,99). If you decide to visit Youghurt you will find a self-service bistro which serves healthy fast food on a fresh basis. Their newest addition? Salads and soups. Jan and Magi (married couple), owner and founder of the store, love what they do and what they have created. You can really feel their passion for the concept and the store which is why we also would come back and visit them for a FroYo and a chat. Youghurt Berlin Leipziger Platz 12 10117 Berlin

Sweet Treat in Berlin: Waffelkaffel

Ever since I tried waffles for the first time in my life they have become the best sweettreat ever. Therefore it wasn’t too hard for me to join my boyfriend on a visit to the little Waffelkaffel in Neukölln (a borough of Berlin). It really is this kind off place where you want to hang-out with some friends and enjoy one of their delicious waffle creations. You can choose between sweet ones (served with fruits and ice-cream for example) or savory (e.g. with salmon or goats cheese). It truly is worth a visit if you ask me. Outdoor in Berlin: Tempelhofer Feld

This place really feels like freedom. The wind was blowing, the sun was shining, a place to feel relaxed and down to earth. Some years ago Tempelhof was one of Berlin’s airports but after closing down it has become a huge sports/dog walk/sunbathing area. Got to take my inline skates with me next time. Culture in Berlin: Hamburger Bahnhof

Yesterday we headed towards the Hamburger Bahnhof, a museum for contemporary art, displaying pieces by artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Joseph Beuys and many others. We really enjoyed some of the works while others were rather questionable. At some point it’s hard to like modern art even when you try to get a grip of the artists mind. It really depends on the way how it captures once minds. The outfit Jana is wearing is a day to night combination. For the day just throw a fluffy cardigan over a super skinny dress, add some bling with a glittery necklace and chose some mid heeled booties. For night leave the cardigan in the car and go for some killer heels. Put on some metallic eyeshadow and your ready for a night out. Dress – H&M Cardigan – Zalando Collection Necklace – NoaNoa

Sweet Treat in Berlin: Princess Cheesecake

Do you know this feeling when you walk past a little café, shop or restaurant every once in a  while and think “I really have to go there” ?! We do felt this way about this little charming  café in Berlin Mitte. Princess Cheesecake has a fine selection of cakes, mainly cheesecakes of  course, a great range of tea and lovely coffee. The right place to be if you are willing to pay a bit  more for something that is really good. We tried the New York cheesecake and the Apple Cake,  both a true sensation. We really love the classical music which plays along on their main webpage. Princess Cheesecake Tucholskystraße 37  10117 Berlin Mitte on the map
