Beauty in Berlin: Shan’s Beauty

A couple of days ago, we spent a more than lovely morning at Shan’s True Beauty Lounge, situated directly at Kurfürstendamm. We really loved that, finally, there’s a similar concept in Berlin as the New York one, which are “blow dry” bars, where you can go and let your hair be washed and styled so that you can start the day right! Apart from the brilliant hairstyling we also got some beautiful manicures. There is a variety of nail polishes to choose from – all lovely colors. Altogether, we can only recommend to check out Shan’s Beauty Lounge if you have a minute, you can just walk in without an appointment! The prices are also moderate – you’ll get a manicure with nail polish for 20€ and a blow dry for 35€. Homemade Bircher Müsli

It has become somewhat of a routine for me – lately, I always prepare my breakfast in advance in order to safe time in the morning. For that reason, I love to prepare bircher muesli, because it is easy, delicious and healthy at the same time! I always prepare a big bowl that lasts a whole week in the fridge and top it with fresh berries to get some extra freshness. To be honest, I normally mix the bircher muesli by feel and put in what I like at the time. Here’s a rough recipe: two parts spelt oats (I always take the fine ones, so it gets really creamy!) cranberries raisins dried apricots shredded coconut one fresh apple (cut in tiny pieces) a dash of cinnamon soy milk I mix all the dry ingredients and stir them until mixed through. Then I fill it up with soy milk so that everything is covered. Leave in the fridge over night and enjoy every day!

Flower Choker

I have been indecisive about the choker trend for quite a while – until I found this perfect, spring-blouse with a bright flower pattern and choker design. It instantly lifts my mood and makes me happy! I love to either wear it with some skinny jeans or as well with my favorite boot cut ones. A trench coat is always a safe bet to accompany the outfit. Tea-riffic!

I have always preferred tea over coffee my whole life – some think that’s really strange. Maybe it’s because I’ve always had a little ritual with my parents, to drink green tea on afternoons of weekends, which we often spent together. Also, tea is really about patience and worshipping the beverage itself. You’l boil the water, it needs to cool a little to reach the perfect temperature for that certain kind of tea and then it is poured and rests in its cup, steaming and warm… When we first tried fittea, we were surprised by the rich flavor of it. Especially, the “Inner Beauty” tea, smelled and tasted exceptionally with its flavors of lady’s mantle plant, whitethorn, aniseed, raspberry leaves and fennel. Also the little pink tea filter swims happily in the cup and instantly puts a smile on our faces. In cooperation with Fittea

Culture in Potsdam: Museum Barberini

Since a few weeks the city center of Potsdam has been enriched by another great cultural attraction: the Museum Barberini. Filled with pieces reaching from the Old Masters to contemporary artists, this place is a true sensation for art lovers. It took quite some time to find the right place and building for the museum but with the newly build Plazzo Barberini the art, mainly sponsored by Hasso Plattner, has finally found a good setting. The architecture of the building is beautiful: free, spacious and filled with light. If you plan to visit the museum make sure to bring some time and make sure to buy some tickets before. Even though its already open since a few weeks there are still queue in front of the main entrance in the morning. Another great tip: download their free! App and enjoy some good, short entries on the art displayed in the museum. Museum Barberini Alter Markt Humboldtstraße 5–6 14467 Potsdam What To Wear to this location

Personal Issue: When your world is torn apart

It took quite some time to open up about this topic but since a year and a half I can openly say it loud: I’m a half-orphan. In 2012, the year we finished school and I was ready to start my life as a university student, I lost my father. He died of a heart-attack; way too early and way too suddenly. I don’t want to go any deeper into the situation and the day as it is still a heart-breaking feeling for my family and me. But from here I would like to start this entry. The moment when your whole world is torn apart. The next couple of days and weeks have been the worst in my life so far. Somehow I exactly remember the time after the day and somehow I can’t put everything together anymore. It’s like a big sorted mess. Losing a person so close to you is something I wish no one would ever experience, sadly it is something we all have to go through and live with – …

Classy Breakfast on a Rainy Morning

Looking still a bit tired but happy – the other day we went to Benedict for breakfast and it was awesome. We sipped on peach mimosas, had some vegan cashew yoghurt with granola, of course the most delicious pancakes and some bread with spreads. Afterwards, we tried to snap some outfit pictures for you despite the heavy rain. Today the sun is shining again and we wish you a super great start into the weekend! February’s Favorites

It’s time for another update on our three favorite beauty products of February. Detox Mask Tonerde Absolue by L’oréal The new detox masks by L’oréal have been advertised largely. Nevertheless, I have to say that they convinced me. I try to use the mask once a week (on Sundays there is always some beauty time!) and I can feel an effect. My skin feels clearer and more balanced. Perfect Match Highlighter by L’oréal  When I was on a girl’s weekend in Palma de Mallorca this year, a friend of mine introduced me to the perks of highlighter. I’m not that much of a make-up girl in terms of concealer, foundation or rouge (I always try to let my skin breathe as much as possible!) but I couldn’t argue that a little sparkle on the cheek bone adds to a more fresh and beautiful face, instantly. Lacoste pour Elle Magnetique Eau de Parfum  I’ve been in love with the Lacoste scents since we’ve been to the Lacoste perfume event in Frankfurt two years ago. For some …

Light Blue

While taking these pictures we were once again reminded that we live in a city where rain is inevitable. So we headed to Walter-Benjamin-Platz, a square named after the philosopher Walter Benjamin. The adjoining Leibniz colonnades offer the right protection for some outfit snaps (and yes, we have taken here some pictures before. Take a look here and here). The light blue jacket is from the current Zara collection and also available in a light pink pastel shade. A friend of mine wore it and I instantly fell in love with it. So, as soon as I got home I ordered it online and got it delivered a few days later. I actually didn’t think of really buying it in the end but somehow it was just too gorgeous to send back.
