Staying in Weimar: Design Apartments Weimar

When thinking of Weimar you instantly think of Goethe and Schiller, theatre and Bauhaus. It’s this typical city nearly every school class visits and where you find a lot of sightseers. But besides all these cultural highlights, Weimar simply is a perfect little weekend get-away. And therefore you of course need a cool place to stay. Of course you can choose on of those many hotels there but when you are looking for something more personal this is the right place for you. Design Apartments Weimar are two holiday apartments you can rent during your stay in Weimar. The owners offer a big and a smaller flat furnished with interior design pieces from former Bauhaus University graduates who get the chance to present their pieces to the general public. Besides this you will be able to find design classics such as the Eames Plastic Side Chair. But more important is, that you can buy the design pieces straight away. When staying in the apartment you somehow are in a showroom where you can find pieces for your own flat. The owners of the apartments offer …

Breakfast in Berlin: Quchnia

Last week I headed out to have breakfast at Quchnia, one of Berlin’s most elegant Cafés in a prime location. It is situated at Gendarmenmarkt, directly facing the concert hall. The food is delicious and of high quality, all dishes are appetizingly presented and freshly made. The menu offers a wide variety of breakfasts, different bites like organic sourdough bread or quiches and soups. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Culture in Potsdam/Berlin: Frauensache

A few weeks ago I had the great chance to visit Schloss Sanssouci (a local sightseeing highlight) on aMonday, a day when the doors normally stay closed for the public. From the 22nd of August until the 22nd of November the Stiftung Preußischer Schlösser und Gärten will be hosting the exhibition “Women’s Business. How Brandeburg became Prussia“. In this the Hohenzollern women are the center of attention, how they shaped the country, what goals they had and how ambitious they were. The main exhibition will be held at Schloss Charlottenburg in Berlin, in other castles such as Sanssouci, the visitors will find little information boxes for this purpose. Tropical Feelings

At the moment such much is happening in our lives that we hardly realize how crazy our daily routines sometimes are. Just so you can imagine what is going on we are happy to give you a little insight. Our biggest issue at the moment is changing the Midnight Couture layout. This is super fun and even more nerve-racking (luckily we have a great web designer at our hands!). The side will be totally different because we figured out what we want to focus on in the future, mainly lifestyle topics such as travel, fitness, health, interior and events. Of course fashion and street style will stay with us but we would both say that this isn’t a pure fashion blog anymore. When growing up and experiencing new things your mind and your ideas change. Which is why we want to take this adventure further and give our creativity a bigger space. Besides this, we will both leave Berlin for a few months in order to follow our dreams and live our lives to the fullest. Where we are going? We will tell …

Breakfast in Potsdam: Biosphäre

When you are searching for a very special place to have breakfast, the Biosphäre Potsdam offers a unique experience to you. You can have brunch in their café, in between tropical plants, a fish pond where koi fish and turtles swim around and occasionally a parrot will fly by. However this is not a place for a spontaneous breakfast. You got to plan your visit in advance (at least two days before) and make a reservation. Plus, wear something light since the temperature is tropical inside. Drinks in Berlin: Grace Bar

The Grace Bar is the elegant extension of the Grace restaurant, both situated in the Hotel Zoo. The bar is seeking to reinterpret the classic drinks of the 1920s and 50s, reflecting the building’s spirit as meeting point of the political and intellectual elite of that time. Their drink menu is extensive and offers cocktail gems like Floriferous Fizz by Grace, a Westside Cosmopolitan and Shades of Grey. Make me feel the warm, make me feel the cold.

Yesterday evening a spend a lovely girls night with some of our friends. We had homemade pizza, a delicious cucumber/feta salad, fresh melon with ham and cool drinks at a friends place. After this delicious dinner we headed to the cinema and watched Magic Mike XXL. Honest opinion? The first one was better. We missed the story somehow. Nevertheless the evening with the girls was a sensation and the weather was absolutely amazing! However the outfit combination here was taken on Thursday before our dinner at the Grace restaurant. Make sure to take a look at our post about this place! Shirt – H&M Blazer – Zara Sandals – Zara Necklace – Sence Copenhagen

Lunch in Berlin: Le Faubourg

Last week we enjoyed a fabulous lunch at “Le Faubourg”, belonging to the Sofitel Berlin Kurfürstendamm. The restaurant has a loyal base of guests for their weekly lunch, an institution in the Berlin city west. In the evening the restaurant has adopted a concept of sharing many small dishes as starters. We both are huge fans of this eating concept, since it is so much nicer to experience many different tastes than only one! Additionally, the dinner gets a lot more social and interactive. Mostly, “Le Faubourg’s” dishes are inspired by the French cuisine with modern influences. You can find their menu here. The lunch menu changes every week. Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ // Location ☆☆☆☆☆ // Taste ☆☆☆☆☆ Le Faubourg Augsburger Str. 41 10789 Berlin What To Wear to this location

NY Cap

Last week we stopped by the Mall of Berlin for a some shopping and a coffee. For this occasion I like to dress casually in my favorite Adidas “milano” sneakers and cap. Cap – Fifty Leather Jacket – Coast Shirt – Zara Jeans – Noisy May Sneakers – Adidas

Outdoor in Berlin: Haubentaucher

When it’s summer time in Berlin, it comes down to a limited amount of places to hang out and enjoy the warm weather. The current hype is with this location called “Haubentaucher” situated near Warschauer Straße. The area is stylish and clean, has a big refreshing pool and several bars where one can enjoy soul food and drinks. It is the perfect location to sunbath and listen to cool electro music. At night or during the weekend local DJs will make you dance to cool tunes and the sun deck turns into a hip event location. Check out their events schedule here.
