Coffee in Berlin: SUPERMARKET

Located on the top of the new mall, Bikini Berlin, you will find this beautiful concept space. SUPERMARKET offers design pieces, fashion and some delicious food. So, not only can you enjoy some really delicious coffee, you are also able to shop some super cool pieces for your home. The other day I was able to spend some short but intense time there. The coffee was really good and therefore it was okay to pay € 3,60 for it. If you are a fan of soy milk, you can also add this to your coffee for € 0,30 on top. Next time I really want to try one of their juice cocktails e.g. Good morning Berlin (grapefruit, orange, raspberry, chili) or Vitamine Release (carrot, orange, apple, olive oil). Coasting between € 4,60 and € 6,50. For the cake I payed around € 3,80 – not cheap but really yummy. Sometime you need to treat yourself with something. They also serve lunch and dinner, but that will be worth another post. Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ …

Coffee in Berlin: Le Johann Rose

A sunny day in town and a short trip to Kreuzberg, thats how Sundays always should look like. A dance performance of a friend brought me into that direction. On my way to the venue I came across this little café called La Johann Rose and decided to have a quick coffee stop there. The inside is charmingly decorated, kitsch and vintage pieces are the main things you will find along with some patterned wallpapers and fresh flowers on the table. A Latté Macchiato costs € 2,80 (To Go € 2,00) and is served in a full glas with delicious foam. Along with that I enjoyed a banana nut bread slice, which was so fluffy and costs € 2,00. If you are looking for other sweat treats you can choose between some other freshly made cakes, brownies (one € 2,00), ice-cream and vegan spelt waffles (starting at € 3,60). If you are looking for lunch, you will also be able to find something here. They serve soups and other little dishes. Afterwards just stroll through the …

Coffee in Berlin: Kaffeemitte

A coffee break is just one of those things we really need on a long day or in-between a shopping trip. Energy comes back to the body and you can recover. There are many beautiful cafés in Berlin and you somehow get the feeling that Berlin is a coffee-city. If you are hanging around Hackescher Markt this café place is just the right one. Kaffeemitte is always filled with people and you can feel that this really is a typical Berlin Szene café. But nevertheless it’s worth a visit. They serve some delicious cakes (€ 2 – 4) and if you are rather looking for something hearty you can chose between some Paninis (€ 6 – 7,50) and other daily dishes (Salads and Pasta). Breakfast is also available. A Latté Macchiacto costs € 3,10 and is enough to satisfy your appetite. When the weather is good you can sit outside and watch tourists and Berliners go by. A Waffle Sunday

We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon together with some yummy waffles, a good cup of tea and girl’s talk (mainly complaining about the University stress we have at the moment!). It’s so hard to actually find some time  to get together or even do something with our friends. Mid February we will be free again!

Coffee in Berlin: Is this even McDonald’s anymore?!

On Ku’damm Berlin a new McDonald’s Restaurant- wait, this is wrong, is it a diner? Café? Take Away?I cannot tell anymore- opened. This place does not look like a fast food restaurant at all, more like a pretty, romantic Café. It is equipped with couches, candle lights, chandeliers, book shelves… Long since, McDonald’s is not only fast food anymore, it is fit salads plus, slim and smiling Heidi Klum, or McCafé- a specialist in coffee. I seriously have to admit that the McDonald’s merchandizing and commercialization department made a very good job of it. A metamorphosis from unhealthy fast food to healthful, fresh salads and freshly made fruit smoothies is definitely a huge step in corporate philosophy. Nevertheless this is the only way for a big company to survive: adapt to the changes of its market and consumption of the new generation. I prefer cheeseburgers anyway! Ha!
