This is probably not your typical go-to place but the burgers taste delicious which is why we would like to recommend this takeaway place. The Rostbratwurstgrill is located in Werder (a town outside of Potsdam – easy to get there by bus) and used to be an petrol station turned into a takeaway bistro. They serve various things but the burgers are a must. Cheese Burger (€ 3.50), Chicken Burger (€ 3.00), Big-Fish Burger (€ 3.00), Teriyaki Burger (€ 3.50) and many more. If it’s not you burger day you can also enjoy a Currywurst (€ 2.50), a meat loaf (€ 2.00) or a Schnitzel (€ 3.00). Coffee in Amsterdam: Papeneiland

I am just gonna say it: Café Papeneiland serves (in my opinion) the best apple pie in the whole world. I have never tried any comparable apple pie in my life. The café is the most earthy and comfy place I know in Amsterdam so far and it is perfect to spend a sunny day, watching the boats running through the canals, drinking coffee and chatting with your friends. Brunch in Berlin: Spreegold

Sundays are made for late and long breakfast/brunch sessions. Yesterday I headed to the under Berlin inhabitants pretty well-known Spreegold where they serve fresh food and drinks all day long. However I was keen on trying their breakfast and honestly, it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ate the Spreegold’s Brunch “The Best” plate (€ 18,50) and had a Green Mint Iced Tea (€ 3,80) as a refreshment. I had a bowl of whole milk yoghurt with granola and fresh fruits (€ 4,50) as well as Buttermilk pancakes with fruits, sour cream and maple syrup (€ 7,90). As a drink I just ordered a plain Caffé Latte (€ 3,50). All in all it was really yummy but as you can see what each dish and drink costs you can tell what we payed for it in total. Not a weekly indulgence! Of course you can also choose something different from the menu but mainly the breakfast plates start at € 7,50 and up. Another thing which will give this spot a tiny minus point was the speed of the staff. Two guys were running …

Lunch in Amsterdam: Daily at Magna Plaza

The Daily at Magna Plaza is a nice place to have a small snack or coffee break between shopping in Amsterdam’s most beautiful shopping center. They offer fresh smoothies, juices and paninis of the day. Also, the café belongs to Sissy Boy, an interior and clothing shop with a cool but feminine style. Lunch in Berlin: Mmaah

The past weekend I had the chance to attend the opening event of Mmaah, a Korean BBQ bistro located in Berlin Neukölln. After opening their first venue close to the underground station Boddinstraße the two owners have made another step with this opening. To be honest I have never tried Korean food and was more than thrilled to give it a try. In the pictures you can see the Mandu, Korean dough bags, and the Mmaah BBQ Potatoes. Both absolutely delicious! A small dish coasts € 4,50 and an XL one € 7,50 – all served with rice and fresh salad. As a drink I had a hot Mmaah ginger tea which was so warming and healthy, costing € 3,00. Chocolate Cornflakes Cookies

For these delicious chocolate cornflakes cookies (my absolut favorite) you need: 250g butter 2 eggs 180g sugar one pack of vanilla sugar 350g flour 5-6 cups of cornflakes 100g dark chocolate 1/2 pack of backing powder 125g raisins Preheat your oven to 180°C Crush the cornflakes and chop the chocolate into small crumbs (if you have a good mixer or mixing machine the cornflakes will break in the mixing process). First you mix butter, eggs, vanilla sugar and sugar together. In a separate bowl we combine the flour with the backing powder. Then add it to the butter etc. mixture. Now you need the chopped chocolate and the raisins, all in there. Last but not least add the cornflakes. Form small heaps on the metal sheet covered with baking paper. Bake about 15 to 20 minutes on the second rack at 180 degree (upper/lower heat). Check after 15 minutes, it all depends on how big your heaps are. We do rather little ones because you can get more out of the recipe in the end. …
