BFW S/S 2015: Photo Diary Lavera Showfloor

Sustainability is a topic that concerns all of us and which slowly but surely has found its way into the fashion scene. I think especially nowadays, in times of shocking incidents like the Bangladesh factory collapse, we are more concerned about our clothes’ origin and finally start to ask questions about material, production, working conditions or methods. It is most important that fashion labels react to this customer sensibility hence green fashion is more trendy than ever. The lavera Showfloor, which takes place on occasion of the Berlin Fashion Week, is one of the most important events when it comes to so-called green glamour. On three show days, laver shows designers all over the world that all have one thing in common: their collections are not only highly fashionable but also made under fair circumstances and with sustainable materials. This summer, I was working at the lavera Showfloor and intact responsible for finding these 11 international designers, who fulfill ethical but also fashionable standards. It was definitely a challenging job but I enjoyed every minute …

BFW S/S 2015: Streetstyle

Time is running so fast and there we are again. The fashion madness has returned to Berlin. Yes, it’s Fashion Week, again. Sadly we aren’t in the situation to attend many shows or other events. Jana is working full-time for the Lavera Showfloor (pictures coming soon) and I just finished a whole lot of ballet performances. Nevertheless Fiona and I visited Jana at work and snapped some outfit pictures. I really love her style. Easy-going and so berlinish. Berlin simply isn’t this high-heel, fancy dress and big sunglasses city. It’s different from Paris and Milan, but that makes it even better! Fiona sticked to black and white, a classic combination with a twist (thanks to those sneakers).

Lunch in Berlin: NU

This place isn’t new to us but we still love coming here and enjoy a delicious lunch. The NU Restaurant is located in Berlin Charlottenburg which you can reach easily by train (S-Bahn Station: Savignyplatz). They serve really good Asian food and each week you can find their new Lunch menu online. This makes it a little easier to plan your visit. You can choose between three different Lunch menus every day (Monday to Friday). Each main dish is served with a starter of your choice (mainly soups or a salad). As a starter I enjoyed a Tom Ka Gai soup and as a main dish I went for a chicken curry with rice, potatoes, carrots and coconut milk. For everything I payed € 7,50 and was more than satisfied. City Jungle

The week startet off pretty funny for us… We planed to snap some outfit pictures on Monday morning. Location and time was set but we somehow both ended-up at a different sight in Potsdam. There are just too many attractions to see in this city that we talked about the Chinese house and one of us landed at the Chinese Dragoon house while the other one was waiting in the park at the Chinese tea house. Funny who things like this happen, we truly had a laugh about that. On Tuesday we now somehow regularly meet for Lunch at work in Berlin. Which is just the perfect opportunity for us to snap a quick outfit combination for you. Today we both have a day of since it’s a official holiday here in Germany. This however doesn’t mean we are can push our work aside and relaxe. Time to get those University things done! What are your planes for the long weekend? Jacket – Zara Boots – Strauss (on sale!) Bag – Longchamp

Trench Mood

When you need to go to work and the weather isn’t that appealing outside, choose a trench coat. It’s such an iconic and classic piece you can through over every outfit combination. An earthy shade is normally the choice with a trench but if you are daring enough, why not buy one in a bright colour or a pastel shade. Trench coat – Zara  Treggings – H&M Boots – Tommy Hilfiger

With The Blues

It seems as if the weeks are just passing by so quickly. Since we have so much to do and work on everyday gets shorter and shorter. Time is such a valuable thing! We simply rush through the days and our timetable. We seriously need to relax this weekend a bit. Have you got your weekend planed already? This outfit combination is a rather simple but chic one (another Office look actually). When the temperatures rise it’s nice to swap your booties to some pretty sandals. Blazer – Zara Shirt – Mango Sandals – Zara

Kimono

The Kimono is a Japanese traditional garment. Today in Japan, it is worn for special occasions such as weddings, tea ceremonies, formal traditional events and funerals. An appropriate style and color of kimono is to be worn depending on the occasion and the person’s age and marital status. I personally have always been fascinated by Geishas. I read the book “Memoirs of a Geisha” by Arthur Golden and watched the movie, too. It is such a different world and culture that we in Europe simply can’t understand their way of living. Some years ago i brought this dressing gown at H&M but didn’t thought about wearing it outdoors. But somehow my mind changed and I’m trying challange this piece a bit more. The pop of colour gave my rather simple outfit a new touch and mixing different fabrics is also a good idea for spring/summer outfit combinations. And remember, festival season is here! Dinner in Berlin: Cơm Á

This restaurant brought me to the district Kreuzberg in Berlin. It’s located on the Oranienstraße and pretty easy to reach by bus or subway (unless it’s 1st of May). You can choose between Vietnamese dishes from the grill, Japanese sushis and Cambodian salads. I went for a grilled chicken dish served with fresh salad (loved the avocado in it) and rice, costing € 8,50. My boyfriend decided to eat grilled beef rump with salad and rice as well (€ 9,90). The sushis you see in the pictures were eight Ebi Chumakis (shrimps, cucumber, rocket salad and cream cheese) for € 4,40. As drinks we had Chanh Da, which I would always go for when having asian dinner or lunch. Coffee in Berlin: Le Johann Rose

A sunny day in town and a short trip to Kreuzberg, thats how Sundays always should look like. A dance performance of a friend brought me into that direction. On my way to the venue I came across this little café called La Johann Rose and decided to have a quick coffee stop there. The inside is charmingly decorated, kitsch and vintage pieces are the main things you will find along with some patterned wallpapers and fresh flowers on the table. A Latté Macchiato costs € 2,80 (To Go € 2,00) and is served in a full glas with delicious foam. Along with that I enjoyed a banana nut bread slice, which was so fluffy and costs € 2,00. If you are looking for other sweat treats you can choose between some other freshly made cakes, brownies (one € 2,00), ice-cream and vegan spelt waffles (starting at € 3,60). If you are looking for lunch, you will also be able to find something here. They serve soups and other little dishes. Afterwards just stroll through the …
