This week I was finally able to try out Cecconi’s, newest extension to Soho House Berlin. The restaurant serves fine Italian food and has an extensive menu satisfying every taste. We enjoyed a wide variation of dishes and can definitely recommend the meatballs, tatar and grilled fish. Apart from the excellent food, I love Cecconi’s interior, which is a gathering of huge, red chesterfield sofas, heavy wooden tables and giant chandeliers, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Yesterday, I finally visited Berlin’s insta famous brunch café Roamers for a work meeting. I can definitely say, the hype is real! People were standing in line for breakfast on an ordinary Tuesday morning, normally I only experienced such behavior in New York City, where it’s absolutely normal to wait one hour to get some overpriced avocado toast – but that’s a different story. Roamers is small but cozy, dishes are somewhat arranged in a messy but photogenic way. However, most importantly, the food tastes great. We had the granola with fresh berries and the classic avocado toast with poached eggs and I think both tasted fabulous. We were happy to be among the first people to visit the newly built Grace Rooftop, a bar as fabulous as the restaurant itself. The rooftop is the perfect location for a cool drink on a warm summer night. We already tasted the Banyan Mule and a cocktail made with coriander and pineapple, that was just delicious! Very rarely, it occurs that you experience that perfect summer moment. The sun is shining, all your friends are gathered, there’s music and a cool drink in your hand. Last saturday, that rare moment happened at the Moet Summer Party in Berlin. The setting was as fabulous as the brand itself – there were white table tennis courts, a glamorous pick-nick situation, giant pool toys, a beach and bar, the beautiful Halensee and a bridge reaching far onto the lake. All girls were wearing white boho dresses and flowers in their hair. The highlight of the event was definitely the live performance of Berlin based artist Adesse. After the performance, with the late sunset the party slowly came to an end but we can still feel that warm feeling of happiness all over. We try to at least once a weak meet for coffee, blog talk and snapping some pictures. Because we both work full time and study as well, sometimes it is hard to find time. But somehow, we always manage! We love that Berlin has so many quiet and nice streets, that are also green with flowers. It just very much feels like home.
