Coffee in Toronto: Dineen

One thing is for sure: Toronto is a coffee-loving city and we are more than happy about it! One of my favorite coffee spots is Dineen, located downtown in the financial district. I love the cafe’s distinct interior – it is both cozy and very sophisticated. I also appreciate the nice “milk bar”, just a table with different sorts of milk and sugar but arranged in a super lovely way with some flowers and silver covers for the milk cartons. During the week the place will probably always be crowded but still you’ll get your coffee outright. Brunch in Toronto: Maman

When I was in Toronto a few weeks ago, I had the best Saturday morning with a delicious brunch and little chat with one of the founders of the Maman Café. The story behind the two French-inspired cafés situated in New York and Toronto is five friends, each with different backgrounds in terms of fields of study, uniting and deciding to open a café as an attempt to bring some Parisian feeling into the Big Apple. All I can say is, that they definitely succeeded. As soon as I tasted their freshly made madeleines and financiers, I was transported back to the times when I entered my favorite café on Rue des Abbesses for a coffee and a petit truc sucré. We ended up talking in French and chatting about my time living in Montmatre, about what it means to run a café in such a cosmopolitan city and how different it can be from Paris. I can only highly recommend the matcha pancakes, a combination that I have never tasted like this before and was heaven for me as a green tea lover. …

Brunch in New York: House of Small Wonder

As soon as you live in New York for a while, you will realize that Brooklyn is like a whole distinct world and you don’t necessarily have to travel to Manhattan all the time if you live there. You”ll have your own micro cosmos, you favorite coffee shop, brunch place, food market and so on… Last weekend we tried the brunch/lunch/dinner cafe “House of Small Wonder” in Williamsburg. They offer the best matcha cappuccino and homemade gluten free bread and granola. Even though the place is really small, we did not wait long for a table and it is definitely one of the coziest spots we found so far! Coffee and more in New York: Butterfield Market

I soon found out that a perfect day in New York City most likely looks like this to me: Firstly, visit the MET and stroll through the impressionism floor (I am a huge fan of Monet, Manet, Sargent, Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh and there are so many more…) and maybe also take a look at the Costume Institute exhibition going on. Afterwards I would totally go for a coffee and frozen yogurt break at the Butterfield Market, one of my favorite food places in New York. The Butterfield Market is basically a fine food store, selling all kinds of delicacies. There is a small bakery, cheese section, fruits and fresh produce and much more! But what I love the most is the open coffee station, where one can fill in one’s own iced coffee with Hawaiian coconut flavored brew and hazelnut americano. I would also recommend to try the frozen yogurt as long as the temperatures allow it, coffee and natural with fresh mango is my favorite combination! Finally, I would go back to the Central Park for a long walk, just …

Dinner in Berlin: Dudu31

We both agree that sushi and asian food are amongst our favorite ever. That is why we were more than delighted when Dudu, having their original restaurant near Rosenthaler Platz, opened a second place in the heart of Berlin city West near Kurfürstendamm. Dudu31 is a stylish location that serves traditional vietnamese cuisine with a modern twist, including extraordinary sushi creations, delicious curries and salads. Breakfast in Potsdam: Biosphäre

When you are searching for a very special place to have breakfast, the Biosphäre Potsdam offers a unique experience to you. You can have brunch in their café, in between tropical plants, a fish pond where koi fish and turtles swim around and occasionally a parrot will fly by. However this is not a place for a spontaneous breakfast. You got to plan your visit in advance (at least two days before) and make a reservation. Plus, wear something light since the temperature is tropical inside. Lunch in Berlin: Le Faubourg

Last week we enjoyed a fabulous lunch at “Le Faubourg”, belonging to the Sofitel Berlin Kurfürstendamm. The restaurant has a loyal base of guests for their weekly lunch, an institution in the Berlin city west. In the evening the restaurant has adopted a concept of sharing many small dishes as starters. We both are huge fans of this eating concept, since it is so much nicer to experience many different tastes than only one! Additionally, the dinner gets a lot more social and interactive. Mostly, “Le Faubourg’s” dishes are inspired by the French cuisine with modern influences. You can find their menu here. The lunch menu changes every week. Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ // Location ☆☆☆☆☆ // Taste ☆☆☆☆☆ Le Faubourg Augsburger Str. 41 10789 Berlin What To Wear to this location

Dinner in Potsdam: My Keng

For the locals this place isn’t a big surprise but we still want to share it with all of you. My Keng is mainly know as a sushi bar in the heart of Potsdam serving also many other delicious dishes. All food they serve are absolutely delicious and super fresh. The open kitchen offers a direct insight and you can observe how your dish is prepared. The price range is average for good sushis. Avocado Makis cost 4.50 € and Anago Makis (salt water eel) cost 5.00 € – see these two in the pictures above. As a drink we highly recommend their Chanh Da a lime, mint and brown sugar mixture – super refreshing (coasting 3.80 €). Dinner in Berlin: Grace

Before or after fashion week events, it is always nice to have a relaxed dinner with friends, preferably in a place that has a great atmosphere. The restaurant Grace at Hotel Zoo is such a cozy and elegant place, where you can enjoy fabulous food and enchanting conversations. We can highly recommend their creamy rock shrimps as a starter, their roasted salmon with wasabi-pea puree and definitely the NY cheesecake as a perfect finish. Breakfast in Weimar: Fama Café & Bücher

During my last stay in Weimar my boyfriend and I took the chance to try this beautiful little café called Fama. It is located in the heart of the city and serves delicious breakfast as well as lunch and cake in the afternoon. Everything you see on the table was absolutely delicious and the price was more than fair. In total we paid 22.90 € – which is absolutely appropriate for what we enjoyed. Only tiny little minus point: it took a while until everything was served but certainly waiting was for it.
