Ten Things I learned when living in Paris

1. Paris is the place build of the most beautiful and romantic architecture. Full stop. It is a pleasure and privilege to be able to walk through these countless beautiful streets and see all the famous monuments. 2. After my time in Paris I am now officially unable to eat crêpes in any other country than France. Others just don’t get it – they never taste the same. You can find my favorite crêpes store in Montmartre, in Rue des Abbesses. 3. When in Paris, you should stick to drinking black coffee. It is a waste of time and effort to try to get a nice cappuccino – the Parisians don’t believe in milky mix drinks really. And you won’t regret it since the black coffee is just far better in France! 4. The French style is a unique token of elegance in this world. It is hard to imitate and even harder to learn but it is the real deal. Only French women manage to look this elegant in a striped t-shirt and jeans …

My ten favorite places in Paris

After living in Paris for half a year, I was lucky enough to experience many places and see everything that I had planned in advance. Therefore, I figured it might be interesting to share my best tips with you guys – maybe for your next city trip to Paris! 1. Buvette has the best breakfast in town! 2. Le Palais Royale is a very beautiful place to stroll, have a nice coffee or just sit and read a book. 3. Take a walk along the Seine when the sun goes down. 4. Le Coq Rico has a really nice ambiance and lovely chicken dishes. Try the Cross Hermitage red wine with it – it’s divine! 5. Père Lachaise is a real experience. I believe it is the loveliest in autumn, when the leaves are colored in yellow, orange and red. This place is so peaceful yet so interesting. 6. St.Germain des Près is a perfect area to do some shopping, visit the Jardin du Luxembourg and sip some coffee in the sun. 7. Les Puces (Porte …

Drinks in Paris: Milord

Milord is a small and rustic but very cozy bar in the Montmartre area. It serves delicious draft Pelforth beer and also nice cocktails – especially during Happy Hour there is probably no place in Paris that sells more good value drinks! Brunch in Paris: Buvette

Buvette is my favorite place in whole Paris to have a traditional and nice brunch with some good friends or family. The place is cozy and traditional and offers high quality breakfast dishes that will satisfy brunch-lovers from all around the world with typical French dishes and international delicacies. I personally can highly recommend the “Granola with fresh red fruits” and “Brouilles Jambon”, which is just pure deliciousness on a plate! Culture in Paris: Opéra Garnier

There certainly are many things in Paris you shouldn’t miss while visiting the city but this place has to be on the top of your list: the Opéra Garnier (or the official name Opéra National de Paris). If you find the time take part in one of their guided tours and experience the opera building on a new level. The interior is absolutely breath-taking and you will always be remembered of the Phantom of the Opera story which plays around this house. Students under 26 pay € 10 for a tour / the full rate is € 12,90 for more information head this way

Coffee in Paris: KB Café

The KB Café is one of my favorite “work-Cafés” – In this case that means that I can work on my projects with free Wifi, a double shot latte and some nice rhubarb crumble or carrot cake. Apart from this the place offers most delicious French quiches with salad and some freshly pressed juices. The KB is as well situated in a very nice and quiet neighborhood, sometimes there is even an Antique market just outside KB’s window. Dinner in Paris: Le Dépanneur

Californian food cantine Le Dépanneur is the right place in Paris if you are craving for a delicious burger and a pint of Brookly Lager beer. We can also warmly recommend their quinoa salad with feta cheese, pomegranate and almonds. The place is designed in a super stylish but rustic way, cozy but at the same time very simple. Altogether, it’s just the perfect place to hang out with your friends on a night out! Le Dépanneur 27 rue pierre fontaine 75009 Paris What To Wear to this location

Halloween in Paris

Since we have a little other situation this year, meaning one of us being in Paris and the other in Berlin, we have decided to create a different Halloween Special for you! Therefore we have put together a little collection of pictures showing you two different sides of “Halloween” in Paris. A night out with some friends and a day trip to a special place. We have to admit, we love the movie Phantom of the Opera staring Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler. And somehow we ended up making a little tour á la Photo. This also brought us to the Pére Lachaise Cemetery and took our breath away. It really isn’t the normal cemetery you see everyday and somehow, as strange as it may sound, we were fascinated by it. Happy Halloween everyone!

Coffee in Paris: Rose Bakery

Rose Bakery is a real insider’s tip for foodies in Paris thus it is the first place we’ll feature in our #parisguide. Even though the café has a very simple, rustic interior it scores with highest quality, delicious and most importantly fresh products. Favorite little treat is definitely either the crumble with red fruits or the matcha green tea and raspberry loaf. It goes perfectly with a freshly brewed coffee or one of their many different teas. However you have to expect some not so cheap prices. A caffe latte costs € 4,00 and the cakes start at € 7,00. Nevertheless it’s a one time experience you need to try in Paris. You can also enjoy some lunch dishes for which you will pay from € 10 to € 19.
