Sweet Treat in Weimar: Koriat

When in Weimar you certainly shouldn’t miss this delicious sweet treat heaven. Koriat is a local insiders’ tip serving delicious homemade cake with fresh and flavorful ingredients. In their display you will find a classical carrot cake next to a chocolate pecan cake orn a cheese-cherry-white chocolate cake (coasting from 2.50 to 3.00 €). The range is quite big and you will have a problem to choose one in the end (extra note: it’s self-service here!) Along with a tasty slice of cake make sure to drink a good, strong coffee to compensate the sweetness. Staying in Weimar: Design Apartments Weimar

When thinking of Weimar you instantly think of Goethe and Schiller, theatre and Bauhaus. It’s this typical city nearly every school class visits and where you find a lot of sightseers. But besides all these cultural highlights, Weimar simply is a perfect little weekend get-away. And therefore you of course need a cool place to stay. Of course you can choose on of those many hotels there but when you are looking for something more personal this is the right place for you. Design Apartments Weimar are two holiday apartments you can rent during your stay in Weimar. The owners offer a big and a smaller flat furnished with interior design pieces from former Bauhaus University graduates who get the chance to present their pieces to the general public. Besides this you will be able to find design classics such as the Eames Plastic Side Chair. But more important is, that you can buy the design pieces straight away. When staying in the apartment you somehow are in a showroom where you can find pieces for your own flat. The owners of the apartments offer …

Lyon Photo Diary I

Lyon is a city full of French charm, zest for life and romance. It can offer everything you need for a perfect city trip: culture, culinary experiences and style. Like in many French cities you may observe the French women’s impeccable style while you stroll through the beautiful streets paved with small boutiques and cafés. The church on top of the hill offers an incredible view over the whole city, afterwards you can take a walk down through the massive park and end up in an artisan ice cream store trying one of 70 different flavors.

The Dutch Countryside

During my stay in Amsterdam I got the chance to experience a short trip to the Dutch country side and all I can say is that is it really beautiful. Pink, yellow and red tulip fields paint the scenery in the most beautiful colors possible. The sea breeze blows away your sorrows and the waves sooth your mind. You can reach the beach with only traveling half an hour from the exciting city of Amsterdam and I can only recommend a day trip to discover the Dutch beauty of nature.

Amsterdam Photo Diary

After a super fun girls weekend together in Amsterdam there are still so many pictures to share with you. Today we therefore give you another inside look into what we did together. All in all the weather was great which isn’t granted at all. So we took the time to sit in the sun, enjoy some sparkling ice tea and stroll through all those beautiful canals. Also a slice of the best Amsterdam apple cake had to be on our to-do list (find out about this place here).

Drinks in Amsterdam: Mata Hari Bar

Mata Hari is a real insider’s tip in Amsterdam. The bar is hidden within the red light district and you wouldn’t expect such a cozy and comfortable atmosphere considering the surroundings. The interior consists of vintage furniture and many different antique details, building a casual hang-out setting. Upstairs is the restaurant, offering dishes with an exotic twist. Downstairs in the bar, a extensive drinks menu is awaiting, featuring classics like Moscow mule, different gin tonics or beers. The place is open daily for lunch, dinner and drinks and offers fair trade products whenever it is possible. Ten Things I learned when living in Paris

1. Paris is the place build of the most beautiful and romantic architecture. Full stop. It is a pleasure and privilege to be able to walk through these countless beautiful streets and see all the famous monuments. 2. After my time in Paris I am now officially unable to eat crêpes in any other country than France. Others just don’t get it – they never taste the same. You can find my favorite crêpes store in Montmartre, in Rue des Abbesses. 3. When in Paris, you should stick to drinking black coffee. It is a waste of time and effort to try to get a nice cappuccino – the Parisians don’t believe in milky mix drinks really. And you won’t regret it since the black coffee is just far better in France! 4. The French style is a unique token of elegance in this world. It is hard to imitate and even harder to learn but it is the real deal. Only French women manage to look this elegant in a striped t-shirt and jeans …

Drinks in Amsterdam: Skylounge

The Skylounge Amsterdam has a breathtaking panoramic view of the whole city – there are even “sky maps” that explain which buildings you can see, first thing when you enter the bar. The place is a meeting point for Amsterdamers and internationals from all over the world. It has a very cozy but straightforward and cosmopolitan atmosphere. You may either have coffee but truly this place lives up at night, when they serve the best cocktails in town. We can recommend the “Sky Thai” – an exotic version of Mai Thai served in a small Tikki cup. If you want to go all in, you’ll have to get “the Bartender’s skull”, which is a huge glass of a cocktail of your choice to share with your friends. My ten favorite places in Paris

After living in Paris for half a year, I was lucky enough to experience many places and see everything that I had planned in advance. Therefore, I figured it might be interesting to share my best tips with you guys – maybe for your next city trip to Paris! 1. Buvette has the best breakfast in town! 2. Le Palais Royale is a very beautiful place to stroll, have a nice coffee or just sit and read a book. 3. Take a walk along the Seine when the sun goes down. 4. Le Coq Rico has a really nice ambiance and lovely chicken dishes. Try the Cross Hermitage red wine with it – it’s divine! 5. Père Lachaise is a real experience. I believe it is the loveliest in autumn, when the leaves are colored in yellow, orange and red. This place is so peaceful yet so interesting. 6. St.Germain des Près is a perfect area to do some shopping, visit the Jardin du Luxembourg and sip some coffee in the sun. 7. Les Puces (Porte …

Coffee in Amsterdam: Papeneiland

I am just gonna say it: Café Papeneiland serves (in my opinion) the best apple pie in the whole world. I have never tried any comparable apple pie in my life. The café is the most earthy and comfy place I know in Amsterdam so far and it is perfect to spend a sunny day, watching the boats running through the canals, drinking coffee and chatting with your friends.
