Ice & Storm

This weekend we finally spent some quality time together and were able to snap some pictures. We are both back in Berlin, hands full with work and some new projects coming up. Berlin weather is still driving us crazy with wind, snow, ice and rain but we hope warmer days will come soon! Coat – Zara Hat – Michael Kors Boots – Softclox Bag – Liebeskind

Sweet Treat in New York: Ample Hills Creamery

I seriously have never ever tried a better ice cream than this one served by Ample Hills Creamery (this was at Gotham West Market). Starting with the flavors – they offer some classics as well as some you never heard of: The Munchies, Salted Crack Caramel, Ooly Gooly Butter cake, Peppermint Pattie and many more. Even a dark chocolate one mixed with Guiness beer. And guess what, at the moment they offer a ice cream Star Wars limited edition: the light and the dark side! Ten Things I learned about living in New York City

New York, New York, City of endless possibilities, where dreams come true… 1. There is probably nothing you cannot do in New York City. It doesn’t matter if it’s nightlife, food or other experiences, you’ll probably find it somewhere in the city. That is what makes living in New York so amazing and exciting! 2. Yes, the city is crazy expensive, we have to admit. In New York, if you want a unique experience, you have to pay for it. That is probably one of the reasons people are this ambitious to make it in this city and to be able to afford a nice life here. 3. In New York, everything is extreme. I believe that there is no mediocre or “normal” way and one could say that the amplitudes are just wider than anywhere else. 4. If you want to survive in this jungle, you have to be tough. There is no place on earth that teaches you that the way New York does. 5. New York is an extremely inspiring city. You only have to walk through the …

My Ten Favorite Places In New York

1. Probably my favorite place in New York is the Met Museum. I love that you never have to stand in line and can just casually decide to go there and spend the afternoon. I also love that there is so many different kinds of art, you can look at impressionist paintings but as well visit the Egyptian wing or see an exact replica of a Moroccan patio in a Riad. I think you can learn a lot and this museum is one of the greatest there is. 2. When you are living in New York you will soon realize that the Central Park is as essential to your life as the air you are breathing. Literally, when you have passed a week between skyscrapers and in subway tunnels, you will feel like you can finally breathe again once you enter this amazing park. 3. In New York, like every other city probably you should spend your Saturdays with a lovely long brunch with friends before continuing to stroll around through your favorite neighborhood. A …

Must see in New York: Columbia University

On a beautiful autumn day we grabbed the chance to visit the main campus of the famous Columbia University (hello, Gossip Girl!). The whole area is really beautiful arranged, calm and worth visiting for an afternoon. Instantly you would love to study here just because of the relaxed atmosphere. It certainly feels like a different world than New York City – a get-away for heart and soul. Columbia University 116th St & Broadway New York, NY 10027 United States

Lunch in Washington: SKWR

Since my trip to Washington was just limited to one day, I had to choose in advance where I want to enjoy a good lunch. While searching I came across this place called SKWR kabobline where they serve the eastern art of kabob. At the beginning you choose between bowl (with rice) or wrap and then you start refine it: spreads (e.g. Hummus, Chutney), proteins (e.g. chicken, steak, lamb), toppings (e.g. chickpeas, mint) and sauces (e.g. pesto peste). Everything is freshly prepared and served with love. The meat is tender, the sauces diverse and the toppings delicious. Culture in Washington: National Gallery of Art

Through my Art History studies I knew that the National Gallery of Art in Washington had a lot of art but when I walked through the breath-taking building I was still mesmerized. The whole museum is so beautifully arranged and the pieces are delicately hanged or placed in the rooms. For a art fan a true bliss! But most of all I was fascinated by the East and West Garden Court – a tropical oasis were I just could have stayed forever. And best part? All of this is for f r e e! If you want to visit this museum make sure to plan your day around it. It takes time but is certainly worth it.
