“I dream my painting and I paint my dream.”

On Thursday I finally met Dean from PickledThoughts. A very talented and vibrant photographer based in Berlin who was looking for a dancer to take some snaps with. The little photo-session turned out to be a super great morning in Berlin.

Normally I am unhappy with dancing pictures of myself but these have truly captured my heart since they show me as a person, who I really am and what my passion is. I’m faraway from being a perfect dancer, which is certainly why I love dancing so much: you will never reach the finish line. Always find something to work on, to improve.

Dancing is certainly never easy and for me just half the effort is not enough. I really push myself to a limit. Normally I train 5 times a week and on the weekend do my own home workout. Told you… always on the run.

Check Deans official page for some more pictures taken by him! We will be working on more fun projects together.

Maxi Dress

There is no piece in my wardrobe that makes me feel more divine than a beautiful, long summer dress on a super sunny day..!

This one is kind of a challenge, since it has a rather pale pink color thus only looks well when you have a little tan but otherwise, long day dresses in summer are easy to style- just add a nice belt and some flat strappy sandals et voilà!

Must visit in Potsdam: Park Sanssouci Part I

It’s an early sunny Sunday morning and I’m out snapping some ballet pictures. Choosing the right location in Potsdam actually isn’t that easy because during the summer season there are so many tourists around town, running through every picture.

If you ever come to beautiful Potsdam you must visit Park Sanssouci. Want a tipp? Get up really early in the morning, head to the park and just breath in this perfect place. You will possibly only meet some joggers or dog walkers. Around every corner you will find something new – let it be a magnificent building, a bubbling fountain or some beautiful flowers.

You can visit the whole park grounds for free. If you want to visit one of the buildings you need to buy a ticket. These are just a few pictures, soon there will come some more.

Midnight Couture goes Paris – exploring the neighborhood

Dear readers, Right now I (Jana) am continuing my studies with a semester abroad. That it why I just moved to Paris! It has long been my dream to study abroad and I chose Paris, since it is the fashion capital of this world thus I will direct my studies towards the creative industries.

Hence, from now on we will keep you updated from the origin of two cities- Paris and Berlin! We always love to enhance our blog with an international perspective, therefore we will continue sharing our favorite places, fashion as well as cultural tips and we hope that you enjoy this wider point of view as much as we do.

Lunch in Berlin: TheEats

The newest shopping addition around Zoologischer Garten is the concept mall Bikini Berlin, “..filled with a collection of carefully curated and compatible boutiques”.

Of course there have to be some culinary destinations around the mall and one of them is TheEats – a deli, restaurant, bar and terrace extending over three floors.

With my fellow student Swenja I met for lunch at their deli, located on the ground floor (restaurant and bar are a both). They serve a lot of different dishes. You can chose between pizza (also quarters or half ones), pasta (starting at € 6,50), sushi, salads and burgers with sweet potatoes (€ 9,50). We both went for their salad offer. From a variety of salads you were able to choose four different ones, costing € 6,50 in total. In addition you could add meet, chicken, vegan or fish bites – each costing € 1,00 extra. It’s nice to put your own dish together! Breakfast is also available.

However it wasn’t that easy to understand their system but you can certainly ask their staff for help.

All in all TheEats is a place I can recommend for lunch. Coffee, muffins (€ 4,00) and ice-cream (one scoop €1,50) are too expensive in my opinion. You will find better places for that kind-off indulgence.

Marrakech Photodiary I

Marrakech is the most wonderous, wild, beautiful and exciting city in Morocco. You only need to blink and there is another thrilling sensation just around the corner.

Still, it is a city of contrast – the big place Jeema al Fna would be sleepy throughout the day but it awakes at night when there are hundreds of food stands offering numerous delicacies.

For fashion victims the Souks (huge moroccan market complex offering predominantly leather goods, spices and lamps) are a must – if you know the right places you can shop suede leather bags, scarfs and blouses at low cost but high quality. Always talk to the people working at the stands and only buy where you feel comfortable.

Marrakech as well has a new city that has many lovely places to offer, for example the Grand Café de la Post, which has a unique atmosphere as well as a sophisticated menu.

Even tough one must be prepared to see snake charmers, some meat stands that do not seem to offer the freshest products, a completely different culture that may sometimes feel strange, Marrakech is a must see city for all, who like to be enchanted by a utterly new experience.

Holiday Style

When on holiday we like to dress chic but very casual – I cannot stand to wear uncomfortable or too complex clothes on vacation! Therefore, this light summer look it the perfect holiday style.

Apart from that, I like to wear my findings of holiday shopping, here: a beautifully crafted summer hat and a very simple but cute, white-shimmery clutch.

Moroccan Rose I

Morocco is simply one of my favorite travel destinations ever. This country has a raw beauty hat isn’t easily found anywhere else.

I love the friendliness and kindness of the people, the narrow streets with many artisan galleries and shops, the delicious tangines and peppermint tea and that there is always another treasure waiting around the corner.

Teamwork

Remember when we hit the roof top last month? You haven’t seen all. Of course we took the chance to snap some duo pictures as you maybe have seen on Facebook and/or Instagram.

But here comes the full version of our summer roof tour.
