When you start studying Art History you simply can’t avoid to go to the museum. The Gemäldegalerie is an art museum and holds one of the world’s leading collections of European art from the 13th to the 18th centuries. You can find masterpieces from artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Lucas Cranach, Hans Holbein, Jan van Eyck, Raphael, Caravaggio, Rubens, Rembrandt and Vermeer. Just to name a few.
♫ Citizens – True Romance ♫ We for sure couldn’t miss this exhibition. The Little Black Jacket Chanel’s Classic Revisited by Karl Lagerfeld & Carine Roitfeld U3 Bahnhof & Tunnel Potsdamer Platz 1 10785 Berlin (for those who aren’t sure if they should go: the whole exhibition is free and you also get a poster for free. Hope that makes the decision easier)
♫ U2 – City Of Blinding Lights ♫ Multifarious Berlin shining brightly at night.
The Berliner Liste Aftershow Party took place in one of Berlin’s most famous clubs. The Tresor is commonly known for its electro and techno music.
Last week we were invited to the Opening Party of the art fair Berliner Liste (thanks to PEO). We got a glimpse of the work presented there (did you see them on Twitter?!) and enjoyed some techno sounds at the Tresor Club which is located in the same building. We sadly couldn’t snap some more pictures of the art, since it wasn’t allowed to take pictures.
♫ Santigold – Disparate Youth ♫ Since we both will study in Berlin from the beginning of October on, we just love to share more pictures with you which show the beauty of this city. It has totally captured our hearts. These pictures were taken on Kurfürstendamm, a very famous street in Berlin everyone has to visit!
When you hear the word “Wonderpots” you kind off think about something magical, something extraordinary. In this case you wont be disappointed – in fact, you will be mesmerized. Behind Wonderpots, a guilt-free goodness, you will find one of the loveliest Frozen Yogurt stores I have ever been to. I had the pleasure to talk to Björn Welter, CEO and founder of the store. Without doubt a really inspiring man, showing and telling me what is possible if you just “through yourself into it”. He studied architecture at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, a renowned institution when it comes to architecture. Afterwards he worked for Pret a Manger in London and travelled all over the year between New York, Hong Kong and London because of his work as interior designer for the branch. And here, in the streets of NYC, the idea for Wonderpots was born, a crazy one as he said, a risk of course. He took the chance and made himself, together with a partner, self-employed. They opened their first store in Berlin …
♫ Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – 40 Day Dream ♫ The Berlin University of the Arts (short in German: UdK) is probably one of the renowned public art schools in Germany. If you manage to get hold of a place at this institution you are more than lucky and already (if you graduate successfully) have a high-light on your curriculum vitae. So, it was no surprise that a lot of people were going to take a look at it on the annual open house days of the university. Jana is on holiday at the moment, she will bring some lovely summer pictures along when she comes back (hopefully!).
♫ Wankelmut – One Day ♫ A perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday with my boyfriend in Berlin. We headed out to the Mauerpark, strolled along Eberswalderstraße and then moved on to Bergmannstraße in Kreuzberg. I really enjoy seeing more of Berlin and it’s different districts. You always find new little shops, cafés and restaurants. I promise, there are a lot more tips for you to come. (Enjoy the song, my favorite at the moment! Perfect Berlin-feeling.)
The region around Rosenthaler Platz in Berlin is with no doubt first choice for cool bars and nightlife spots. You can just hang out with some friends, there’s many good and cheap restaurants as well as bars just like “Das Haus am See” which is one of my favorites.
