Drinks in Amsterdam: Skylounge

The Skylounge Amsterdam has a breathtaking panoramic view of the whole city – there are even “sky maps” that explain which buildings you can see, first thing when you enter the bar. The place is a meeting point for Amsterdamers and internationals from all over the world. It has a very cozy but straightforward and cosmopolitan atmosphere. You may either have coffee but truly this place lives up at night, when they serve the best cocktails in town. We can recommend the “Sky Thai” – an exotic version of Mai Thai served in a small Tikki cup. If you want to go all in, you’ll have to get “the Bartender’s skull”, which is a huge glass of a cocktail of your choice to share with your friends. Drinks in Berlin: Monkey Berlin

The Monkey Bar is another hotspot situated in the west of Berlin. It has a gorgeous view through all it’s wide glass windows and is aptly named “Monkey Bar”, since you are able to observe the monkeys of the Berlin Zoo from up there. The Monkey bar serves delicious drinks (try the Gin Basil Smash or the homemade lemonade) and some bar snacks like sweet potato fries or Caesar salad. However, here’s a fair warning: the Monkey Bar has been recommended in many travel guides thus it tends to be really crowded on weekends and nights in general. So either decide to go early or schedule a bit of waiting time – the view and atmosphere is worth it. Drinks and Dinner in Berlin: Grace at Hotel Zoo

Berlin has a new hotspot – the Grace Bar and Restaurant at the Hotel Zoo. The Grace opened its doors 10. January 2015 and offers a “Drinking and Dining” concept that unites foreign and traditional flavors into an exceptional culinary experience. Apart from the superior quality of Grace’s food and drinks, the location has a unique atmosphere and interior design, created by well-known designer Dayna Lee from New York/ LA. We can warmly recommend the excellent “Whiskey Sour” or “Wild Berry Punch” (non-alcoholic and made with fresh wild berries). check availability and book a room here Hotel Zoo Kurfürstendamm 25 10719 Berlin What To Wear to this location

Drinks in Oxford: The House

My boyfriend took me to this place when I was in Oxford in November. And I have to say: I loved it! The House is a bar located in the city center of Oxford. You get there through a narrow alley and will find an absolutely stylish place. The interior is classic and was also location to a Vogue photo shooting. Besides that it was listed on Elle magazines Top 25 Bars in 2010. Best time to go there is during their happy hour which runs from 5pm to 9pm Sunday to Thursday and 5pm to 8pm Friday and Saturday. Garden Party

It feels like summer. Friends around you, some fresh drinks and BBQ. Yesterday evening we enjoyed a lovely get-together at Jana’s. It actually was a farewell BBQ but soon we tell you more about it. Our tips for hosting a garden party: Choose drinks that are not too complicated to make. You want to spend time with your guests A selection of fresh salads and some juicy meat from the grill is a good choice Make sure to have mosquito spray around Serve muffins or a sweet-treat in a glass – both easy to eat without smudging your dress Add some colourful decoration to your table(s) Dress – Mango (on sale!) Grey Scarf – Codello

Cheers! Be Merry!

In the post before this one we have showed you some inspirations for a Birthday decoration or also usable for any other party you want to throw. Here however comes the table and house decoration of Jana’s birthday bash. If you want to have a special event make sure you keep an eye on the details because those certainly stay in mind afterwards. It’s always a good idea to stick to a colour or different shade of the same colour. When you have decided on that one you need to check some of your favorite decor or living stores or online shops for matching pieces. Don’t over do it! If you have some highlights it’s good but you don’t need a whole bunch of them.

BBQ Night

Girl’s evenings/nights together are just the most amount of fun. So we had this little BBQ at Jana’s house, well garden to me more precise. Chicken wings, baguette, fresh salad, watermelon, mousse de chocolate, raspberry cupcakes and bowl full of Sangria. Promised to be fun!

A drink on the terrace

These pictures are connected to the post before this one. We had a special meeting on the rooftop of Hotel De Rome in Mitte (btw. Sandra Bullock was in that Hotel for a press conference at the same time, didn’t see here though). It was super hot that day and the cold drinks on the terrace came just in time. We hope you are all having a lovely Weekend!
