Shopping in Berlin: Schee

I love to discover new little boutiques and shops in my neighborhood. One store that I recently stumbled across is Schee, located in Bleibtreustraße. So we went to check it out last weekend. The store is a lovely mix of interior and decoration accessories, cards and books, prints and textiles. In my opinion one of the addresses to go for when you’re searching for a present for a friend or family member! We really liked how elaborate and carefully selected the selection of items was – every piece was special! They also have another store in Berlin located at Rosenthaler Straße (close to the underground station Rosenthaler Platz, Mitte). We definitely want to visit that one too. Book Recommendation: How to be Parisian

This book isn’t something new for the fashion crowd out there. But since it was just released in German we thought it would be great to share it once more. The book is funny from the beginning until the end. Caroline De Maigret along with three other French ladies tells all the women around the world how to be Parisian wherever you are. What key pieces you need to have in your closet and how, most important, your attitude and habits need to be. There are no long essays but great short entries and so many good quotes everyone should keep in mind from time to time. After reading this book you start to feel a little more what life is about. It’s about living, give yourself the chance to do so and don’t let too many people judge your life after all.

Book Recommendation: I’ll drink to that

I‘m lucky to have a good friend, who knows my taste of books and would give one new read to me for my birthday every year. This time, it was “I’ll drink to that” by Betty Halbreich. I have to admit, at first I did not know what to expect and whether it would be interesting to read a whole book about personal shopping. But after just reading three pages, I was hooked and could not stop until I finished the whole book in two nights. Betty Halbreich has that very particular dry, ironic humor that is especially my kind. I often caught myself laughing out loud while reading, which happens rarely. Betty’s stories are exciting, interesting and always have a twist. I feel that those stories are true and written from her heart, what makes them even more authentic and entertaining. I’ll drink to that is not only a book about personal shopping but more about life, its obstacles and how to find happiness thus learn to be content with what one has achieved. Betty has certainly had many exciting …

Baroque Moments

We both are jewelry lovers which is why we are more than happy to share these delicate pieces with you. Finding the right accessories is not easy and it can take years until you have found the appropriate jewelry fitting your style and your mood. Choosing jewelry everyday can be really nerve-racking and somehow you get used to the same necklace, the same pair of earrings or the same bracelet. A routine kicks in. Therefore it is really important to add the one or other new piece to your treasure box so you can sometimes get rid of your normal pattern. Book Recommendation: Grace

She is one of the most inspiring persons in the universe of fashion and a fascinating character – Grace Coddington. I have always been inspired by her work by just how brilliant she is when it comes to create magic photoshoots that seem to jump at you from the pages of Vogue. Now, we can read about her story in and out in Grace- “A Memoir”.
