Coffee in Berlin: Windback

A beautiful, small, cozy coffee spot in my neighborhood – Windback. We love their excellent coffee, fresh croissants, fruit & mueslis and the relaxed but simple atmosphere. I often go there during the week if I’m too lazy to make breakfast or in a rush. It’s just more than beautiful to sit in Windscheidstraße, watch the people pass and sip on a cappuccino. Coffee in New York: Chalait

This place is of course nothing new to the New York-coffer-lover-scene and for sure attracts the fashion pack. Inspired by the matcha tradition of Japan, Chalait offers a whole variety of matcha products. The name of the café derives from Cha (tea in Japanese) and lait (milk in French). Besides the delicious coffee you can enjoy some little snacks such as fresh banana bread, cookies, avocado-egg toast and stuffed croissants. And if you feel the need to have some Chalait at home, you can buy some of their products in store and online. Soon they will open another spot at Chelsea Market. Coffee in New York: Cha Cha Matcha

While visiting New York it was impossible to not visit this cute place. Everyone around Prince / Canal Street was running around with a cup of Cha Cha Matcha. This café offers a good range of Matcha products starting with the classic Matcha Latte but also selling Matcha banana bread, doughnuts filled with Matcha cream and Matcha lemonade. You get it: Matcha all over the place. But of course you can also enjoy normal coffee beverages. The interior is cute and the prices normal for New York conditions. But be sure to bring your Credit Card because they don’t expect cash! It puts a spell on you

Those of you who are following us on Instagram and Facebook have probably seen that I’m currently back in New York. But not for Fashion Week as many may think but to follow my passion: dancing. It has become a tradition to visit this city every year to train, be inspired and get new ideas. Again it has been a true pleasure for me and it will be so hard to leave on Monday. I somehow feel a little more attached to the city than the years before and enjoy each and every moment. I hope I can come back soon and train even more. For now I love sharing some snaps with you and over the next weeks you will be able to experience more #newyorkguide posts.

Shopping & Food in Berlin: The Store

The Store in Berlin is a unique concept, which is mixing gastronomy, co-working and shopping. It is a hang-out for startup founders and freelancers, spending their day working on their MacBooks and sipping cappuccinos. It also is a store for modern street style, decorative items, books and music. And lastly, if that wasn’t enough already, it’s a restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The lunch always consists of five different salads, that go together in a bowl and are always healthy and delicious. I can also highly recommend their cold-pressed juices, which are actually made by hand and on-site in a small juicery truck – try the Beetroot, Pineapple, Ginger! Brunch in Berlin: Roamers

Yesterday, I finally visited Berlin’s insta famous brunch café Roamers for a work meeting. I can definitely say, the hype is real! People were standing in line for breakfast on an ordinary Tuesday morning, normally I only experienced such behavior in New York City, where it’s absolutely normal to wait one hour to get some overpriced avocado toast – but that’s a different story. Roamers is small but cozy, dishes are somewhat arranged in a messy but photogenic way. However, most importantly, the food tastes great. We had the granola with fresh berries and the classic avocado toast with poached eggs and I think both tasted fabulous. Healthy in Berlin: Superfoods & Organic Liquids

It is no secret that healthy food is big in Berlin. If you walk down Weinbergsweg in Mitte, you’ll find one organic food store after the other. Superfoods & Organic Liquids is one of them. The store is small but has a stylish interior and nice menu variety for the size of the café. I really liked that there were different fruit toppings to their bircher mueslis or chia puddings, either raspberry acai or mango. I can also recommend the coffee with a huge matcha or chocolate cookie on the side! Breakfast in Berlin: What do you fancy love?

Somehow this place has become one of those in-spots to meet your friends and enjoy a Detox juice. Located in City West, What do you fancy love? offers a wide range of fresh juices, delicious coffee specialties and yummy bagels. Its packed everyday and you will experience various people popping in and rushing out with their healthy treat. The prices are fair and the things they offer are delightful. Nevertheless you sometimes feel a little observed by the other guest who scan you from head to toe. Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ // Location ☆☆☆☆☆ // Taste ☆☆☆☆☆ What do you fancy love? Sweet Treat in Leipzig: Marshalls Mum

During a short weekend get-away to Leipzig I visited this cute litte café serving delicious sweet treats. Marshalls Mum is located in the south of Leipzig and offers a welcoming atmosphere. They are mainly known for their cupcakes (also vegan ones) but also offer fresh cakes, brownies and macaroons. The coffee they serve has a really good flavor and along normal milk they also offer soy and oat milk. If you plan to visit on the weekend I recommend to make a reservation. Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ // Location ☆☆☆☆☆ // Taste ☆☆☆☆☆ Marshalls Mum August-Bebel-Straße 1 04275 Leipzig

Lunch in Potsdam: Fahland Bistro

Last month the bakery chain Fahland (to be found in Potsdam and the surrounding area) opened a bistro in the heart of Potsdam. This is a new addition to their former concept. Along with their baked goods they offer sandwiches, soups, quiches, hearty salads, cakes and little tartlets. The interior is nicely chosen: warm and welcoming (created by Martina Haag). But I was really disappointed by the service. The seller behind the counter seemed stressed and annoyed by someone ordering something. And this actually has a whole impact on your visit. The coffee wasn’t hot enough from the beginning which is why it cooled out too quickly. In total it was nice to try and the food was good but I guess I will not come back because of the unfriendly service and the cold coffee.
