This restaurant brought me to the district Kreuzberg in Berlin. It’s located on the Oranienstraße and pretty easy to reach by bus or subway (unless it’s 1st of May). You can choose between Vietnamese dishes from the grill, Japanese sushis and Cambodian salads. I went for a grilled chicken dish served with fresh salad (loved the avocado in it) and rice, costing € 8,50. My boyfriend decided to eat grilled beef rump with salad and rice as well (€ 9,90). The sushis you see in the pictures were eight Ebi Chumakis (shrimps, cucumber, rocket salad and cream cheese) for € 4,40. As drinks we had Chanh Da, which I would always go for when having asian dinner or lunch. Coffee in Berlin: Le Johann Rose

A sunny day in town and a short trip to Kreuzberg, thats how Sundays always should look like. A dance performance of a friend brought me into that direction. On my way to the venue I came across this little café called La Johann Rose and decided to have a quick coffee stop there. The inside is charmingly decorated, kitsch and vintage pieces are the main things you will find along with some patterned wallpapers and fresh flowers on the table. A Latté Macchiato costs € 2,80 (To Go € 2,00) and is served in a full glas with delicious foam. Along with that I enjoyed a banana nut bread slice, which was so fluffy and costs € 2,00. If you are looking for other sweat treats you can choose between some other freshly made cakes, brownies (one € 2,00), ice-cream and vegan spelt waffles (starting at € 3,60). If you are looking for lunch, you will also be able to find something here. Ever since I watched Maid in Manhattan (girls movie), “Come Away with Me” by Norah Jones has become my personal song for New York. Sounds crazy, since I have never been there before. Of course I always dreamed of going there… someday and well planed ahead. But when my dance teacher invited my to join her on a visit to the Big Apple I was head over heels right away. Yes, the city is a little crazy but it is definitely worth a visit. Though I have to say I wouldn’t want to live there on a regular basis. It’s fun to come there, see all those amazing places and get a bit carried away by the SATC feeling. In the seven days I have seen so many different places and somehow discovered myself a bit more. Traveling so far is always a challenge since I love home. During my childhood my family and I moved quite a lot, which is why Potsdam and Berlin have become a home to me finally. But back to New York, …

When you start thinking of a canteen, what comes to your mind? Dark big halls, unhealthy food and a lot of noise? Certainly most of us remember the school or university canteen. However nowadays you can see that more people start to think about what they eat, certainly from a positive point of view. When one hears that more than 80% of health problems comes through wrong nutrition it definitely is time to rethink. But back to the subject. Having lunch in Berlin is in our opinion not that hard anymore. Many places have opened over the past years and this one is worth a try. Die Kantine (The Canteen) is a place for lunch in Berlin Mitte. The building was designed by David Chipperfield, a well-known architect, and is an addition to their architectural office in Berlin. A coffee break is just one of those things we really need on a long day or in-between a shopping trip. Energy comes back to the body and you can recover. There are many beautiful cafés in Berlin and you somehow get the feeling that Berlin is a coffee-city. If you are hanging around Hackescher Markt this café place is just the right one. Kaffeemitte is always filled with people and you can feel that this really is a typical Berlin Szene café. But nevertheless it’s worth a visit. They serve some delicious cakes (€ 2 – 4) and if you are rather looking for something hearty you can chose between some Paninis (€ 6 – 7,50) and other daily dishes (Salads and Pasta). We decided to share a new category with you on our blog. From now on you will find some handy tipps and hints for your stay in Berlin. Places you must see, where you can eat or enjoy a coffee. Just click the hashtag #berlinguide and all related posts will pop-up. And with this, straight into the substance. Papaya is a Thai restaurant located on the Kantstraße in the district Charlottenburg. From the outside one would probably not choose this place, there are others which look more appealing. However it is definitely worth a try. First you should order a lime juice with some crushed ice, super refreshing and costs only € 2,40. Then you really need some time to figure out what to eat, the menu offers many different dishes. I went for wheat noodles with green curry and chicken costing € 6,90. When it comes down to prepare this post we always think “What happened to this year?!”. Somehow it comes really slowly, the end of one year and the beginning of a new one. However it still always feels as if we have created this post just a few days ago. And now we do it again. One year, gone so fast and with it so many memories to keep in mind. What has been most memorable then? Here a little list which is really just captures some things We traveled a lot this year – Amsterdam, London, Praha, Palma de Mallorca, Madeira, Weimar, Istanbul, Paris, Roma and Venice. We hope to be able to add some more beautiful places to our list in the next year. Traveling is such a passion, you ca never get enough of it. We have done an interview with the Tagesspiegel about Midnight Couture. Additionally we also joined the BlogStars and Stylight blogger network. It has grown to be our little tradition to surprise our readers with a special shooting each year for Christmas! This time our pictures involve a lot of joy and movement- we have never been fans of stiff pictures and due to our common history as dancers we somehow can only flourish when we are on the move!
