Christmas is coming closer and our schedules just seem to overflow with appointments. Here a Christmas party, there a brunch with friends and then another work deadline. When the year is coming to an end, we are just overloaded with things. Buying presents and setting up the holiday plan has to be squeezed in between all those dates. Nevertheless we want to share our December inspiration with you. Even though the month is already running to its fullest. White combined with silver or gold details are really high on our list. Letting it be our decoration at home or what we wear to the appreciate occasion. Even the Christmas wrapping can get a little glittery touch. Just because it looks more exquisit and wrapping presents in such delicate paper makes everything more bright.
Time is running fast and Christmas is coming closer and closer and closer. We somehow already like wearing red colored pieces and therefore our this months inspiration is focusing on this color. In light or dark, red offers a great spectrum of shades and is a perfect eye-catcher for any occasion. Cozy knits and velvet pumps are very high on our wishlist since you can easily bring them along to any December event. Let it be a Christmas brunch with friends or your annual office Xmas party.
Autumn is one of the seasons we really love. The light (when the weather allows it) is so magical when the sun goes down, the leaves are beautifully colored and cuddling up on the sofa becomes casual. Oh and don’t forget the hot chocolate here. Plus, Halloween is coming our way. Excitement level? High! And we guess no other month than October represents autumn so accurate. We therefore have put together a little inspiration post for you, featuring our favorite pieces and states for this month. The weather is changing daily, the spices of our food gets a make-over (craving for that pumpkin-ginger soup) and our wardrobe becomes more comfortable.
On Saturday it’s that time of the year again. The world’s biggest Volksfest will open it’s gates in Munich. Hello, Wiesn – hello, Oktoberfest! Since 1810 these festivities are annually held in Munich but since a few years this tradition has also swept over to other areas. Also in Berlin and Potsdam are many events taking place in the next few weeks under the theme “Oktoberfest”. Jana traditionally heads to the Oktoberfest hosted by the Café am Neuen See, which took place the past weekend. Here she has collected some impressions for you to get you in the mood. Here’s her impression of the past event: “I love CANS WIESN at Café am Neuen See. Firstly, my boyfriend is the host of the event and secondly, all my friends are there! Oktoberfest in Munich might be the original, but surely the atmosphere and spirits are at least the same in our Oktoberfest tent! We all love to dance the night away to the classic Wiesn Hits and just have fun. I can only recommend to …
I don’t know why but September already makes me feel like autumn. I guess its because of the weather we already have her in Germany, mostly grey and rainy. Even though I have experienced an Indian Summer in New York, September will always be autumn-pioneer. This also means our wardrobes get a huge make-over. All those breezy summer dresses and sandals start to vanish; booties, long pants and cozy knitwear land in the drawers. Of course also those earthy shades and the different states of grey have their moments in this month but adding a little colour can give your whole outfit combination a twist. Red and pink add the perfect dash of colour.
August, a month in which we still hope to enjoy some sunny days and mild nights. We like to head out and meet some friends at the local bistro or bar, enjoy a slice of pizza or sip on a cold beer. We can still easily forget our daily obligations and hope to gain strength for the up-coming colder and especially darker months. Our wardrobe is therefore still filled with summery pieces e.g. white dresses, fancy sandals, cute necklaces and pastel colored cross-body bags. Our sunglasses are inspired from old, glamours Hollywood divas and the lengths of our dresses reach from sexy short to bohemian maxi chic.
In Berlin, the last May days have been the hottest in history – we had nearly constant 30 degrees Celsius and on Tuesday even 34! Surely, we hope that this warm weather will remain throughout June as well. Apart from being sunny and warm, June is a colorful month for me. There is always a play of light and colors: the flowers blooming in the garden, a bright pink summer dress, a statement bag in yellow, an orange Aperol Spritz, a bright green salad… Let’s celebrate the colors of June this month!
Happy First Of May Everyone! Today, we have a holiday in Germany so I can write this post, sitting in a beautiful garden, in the sun, with a green tea and a bowl of fruit right next to me! In my opinion, May is a particularly beautiful month, since it is the month of flowers blooming everywhere and often it is also the transition to summer. Only in May, the temperatures rise considerably and we can spend more time outside – finally!
The long Easter weekend is here and we are indulging in some free time and good chocolate eggs. How will you spend Easter Sunday? We will have a lovely lunch containing grilled salmon and green asparagus. And in the afternoon we will hit a theater production and in the evening meet our friends for a good dancing session at the local club. It maybe not the traditional Easter Sunday with the whole family and a good brunch or dinner but it dose not matter how you celebrate those festive days as long as you are happy with the events/gatherings you pick. During the last couple of days we were often asked why don’t we celebrate Easter with our family but it’s simply a huge logistical effort since they are all over Germany. Therefore its really nice to just gather people around you who you love and who give you a good feeling, no matter if its Easter, Christmas or any other day, We hope you all have some lovely plans and wish you H A …
Hello, April! Hello Spring and the light mood that comes with the first sunny days! Fortunately, we’ve been lucky when it comes to the weather in Berlin so far – the last days have been warm and full of sun! That’s probably why I suddenly have such an urge to shop light dresses, pastel colors, rose colored sandals and light-washed jeans with flower embroideries… What are your most loved spring trends this year?
