img_1401img_1390img_1404img_1406img_1399

While visiting New York it was impossible to not visit this cute place. Everyone around Prince / Canal Street was running around with a cup of Cha Cha Matcha. This café offers a good range of Matcha products starting with the classic Matcha Latte but also selling Matcha banana bread, doughnuts filled with Matcha cream and Matcha lemonade. You get it: Matcha all over the place. But of course you can also enjoy normal coffee beverages.

The interior is cute and the prices normal for New York conditions. But be sure to bring your Credit Card because they don’t expect cash!

Brunch in Berlin: die Stulle

DSCF0913 DSCF0917 DSCF0918 DSCF0914 DSCF0915

I always love to discover new brunch places in my neighborhood Charlottenburg / Wilmersdorf. Recently, we discovered this place called “Die Stulle“, the German name for bread. It’s a cozy and cute place, decorated with a lot of love and the food is just awesome. We are huge fans of the pancakes and all variations of sourdough bread with different homemade spreads! They also serve delicious lunch.

Those of you who are following us on Instagram and Facebook have probably seen that I’m currently back in New York. But not for Fashion Week as many may think but to follow my passion: dancing. It has become a tradition to visit this city every year to train, be inspired and get new ideas.
Again it has been a true pleasure for me and it will be so hard to leave on Monday. I somehow feel a little more attached to the city than the years before and enjoy each and every moment.
I hope I can come back soon and train even more. For now I love sharing some snaps with you and over the next weeks you will be able to experience more #newyorkguide posts.

Last weekend we tried out a Korean place called Dae Mon, situated at Monbijouplatz in Mitte. The food is contemporary Koraen and prepared in an open kitchen. We mostly liked that there was an interesting variety of dishes that were innovative and tasty. And we can highly recommend their Pale Ale!

We stumbled across this place randomly during our second evening in Palma. After dinner we walked through the small streets and saw this little bakery, closed already. But the interior and the description seemed so welcoming that we figured out to have breakfast there the next morning.
So, we did just that. Don’t expect scrambled eggs or toast, D’Horno serves freshly baked bread and pastries for example filled with tomato or spinach. My favorite treat? The wholewheat croissant!

MC Talk with Isabelle Pollet Villard

Isabelle, raised in Bordeaux, left France and her family with 15 years to become a ballet dancer. She has danced as a professional ballet dancer for 18 years, performing almost the whole classical repertoire but also various modern pieces in Germany, Switzerland and on tour all over the world. Isabelle discovered Pilates in the late nineties after a serious foot injury. She now is a certified Pilates teacher and will be opening a new Pilates Studio “The Pilates Movement, Isabelle Pollet Villard” in Berlin Mitte (soon just five minutes from Rosenthaler Platz Subway station).

When you were a child, what did you dream of being?
I wanted to dance but I also remember wanting to be an archeologist for a while. Brushing the sand and dust off old stones and bones was what I was keen on. I guess this is one of my character features that led me to become a ballet dancer and now Pilates coach… always searching for those little details, clearing the “dust” to find the perfect shape, position, posture.

What do you always take with you when you travel?
My Theraband. It is a prop that I frequently use in my Pilates sessions, just a small piece of thin rubber band. Doesn’t weigh anything, doesn’t take any place in your luggage but you can do an enormous amount of exercices with it! I also take a bunch of them with me when I go teach at home or offices.

What is your favorite spot on earth?
Where my kids are… I’m obviously a mum.

What is one thing left on your bucket list?
Get on stage again. My last show was 5 years ago as I just got pregnant with my first child and I would love to have the chance to perform again. And learn to dance Hip Hop/Street Dance.

What is your favorite indulgence?
Since I have kids (toddlers) I’d say: go to the movies, sleep late , no cooking, take a ballet class.

What is your ingredient for a happy life?
Be patient but focused. Find what makes you happy and stick to it! Also good music and good moves.

New concept, new owner, new location. The Bread&Butter tradeshow has gone through a whole lot of changes and refreshingly enters the fashion world stage this year at Berlins Arena. Newest innovation? The tradeshow (now owned by Zalando) is open to the public. Throughout the years it has been a by-invitation-event-only over the past years, this has been changed and is now accessible to everyone interested in the fashion hype. Direct interaction with the brands and the possibility to buy the newest pieces straight-away (also new!) encourages the fashion crowd to travel to Alt-Treptow, Berlin.

We enjoyed some quality time together and had the chance to indulge in some good conversations with the girls from Fleek.
