Rose Garden Berlin

The last weeks have been quiet on Midnight Couture – life happened and we couldn’t do much about it! We have both been working on some amazing projects, some of them were more demanding and since blogging can be considered a full-time job nowadays, that’s why there has been a lack of posts! However, I’m quite proud to announce that the project I’ve been working on more than one year now is called Rose Garden – a deli & concept store in Berlin Mitte. I’ve been involved in the whole creative process of this project, being responsible for interior design, conception, marketing, social media and press work. Since a couple of days, our store set-up is finally ready and we are already opening our doors from time to time to let the team warm up. There will soon be more posts about Rose Garden and I will announce our official opening date! Until then, feel free to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to get more updates of my work – @rosegardenberlin – I happy …

Coffee in Berlin: Bacis Coffee

When you enter the daily life of a student you quickly notice that coffee is a necessity for most of them. And yes, we actually count to this group. However, the coffee offered at the cafeteria is not that outstanding which is why we are constantly searching for great coffee spots closely located to our institute. Last year I stumbled across Bacis Coffee close to the subway station Dahlem Dorf and was instantly in love with their welcoming atmosphere and the delicious coffee they serve. You can really taste the coffee and are always treated with a small cookie (all café spots out there: a little sweet treat accompanying your coffee makes the costumer really happy – simple and easy!). They also serve some delicious lunch dishes, fresh bagels and some yummy cakes/cookies. Culture in Berlin: Canova und der Tanz

Rainy weekend days are made for visiting the museum and Berlin just offers such a great variety. Since a few weeks the Bode Museum is hosting the exhibition “Canova und der Tanz” (Canova and the dance). This exhibition features works of the Italian neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova. As a special highlight they offer guided tours (approx. 60 minutes long) with a little performance of a corps de ballet dancer from the Staatsballett Berlin (this could have been a little longer in my opinion). The ballet dancer also wears a recreation of the dress worn by the Canovas famous sculpture “The Dancer” and you somehow visualize the whole scenery on how the sculptor created this piece. These tours are limited and you certainly need to book a ticket in advance however the exhibition is also worth a visit without the tour. Coffee in Berlin: Windback

A beautiful, small, cozy coffee spot in my neighborhood – Windback. We love their excellent coffee, fresh croissants, fruit & mueslis and the relaxed but simple atmosphere. I often go there during the week if I’m too lazy to make breakfast or in a rush. It’s just more than beautiful to sit in Windscheidstraße, watch the people pass and sip on a cappuccino. Dinner in Berlin: Brasserie Colette

Another culinary highlight lead by Tim Raue was recently opened in Berlin. Directly across the street from famous KaDeWe, Brasserie Colette is a French Bistro at high level. What I loved most about Colette is the elegant interior – the overall tone is dark, there is lots of golden elements, colorful floral cushions and a (typically French) wooden built-in shelf. The food is delicious and fine, maybe the portions are somewhat smaller than you would expect at a Brasserie… But apart from that, we can only recommend this place for a cozy dinner! PS: they wine selection is fabulous! Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ // Location ☆☆☆☆☆ // Taste ☆☆☆☆☆ Brasserie Colette Passauer Straße 5-7 10789 Berlin What To Wear to this location

Brunch in Berlin: die Stulle

I always love to discover new brunch places in my neighborhood Charlottenburg / Wilmersdorf. Recently, we discovered this place called “Die Stulle“, the German name for bread. It’s a cozy and cute place, decorated with a lot of love and the food is just awesome. We are huge fans of the pancakes and all variations of sourdough bread with different homemade spreads! They also serve delicious lunch. Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ // Location ☆☆☆☆☆ // Taste ☆☆☆☆☆ Die Stulle Carmerstraße 10 10623 Berlin What To Wear to this location

Dinner in Berlin: Dae Mon

Last weekend we tried out a Korean place called Dae Mon, situated at Monbijouplatz in Mitte. The food is contemporary Koraen and prepared in an open kitchen. We mostly liked that there was an interesting variety of dishes that were innovative and tasty. And we can highly recommend their Pale Ale! Bread&Butter 2016

New concept, new owner, new location. The Bread&Butter tradeshow has gone through a whole lot of changes and refreshingly enters the fashion world stage this year at Berlins Arena. Newest innovation? The tradeshow (now owned by Zalando) is open to the public. Throughout the years it has been a by-invitation-event-only over the past years, this has been changed and is now accessible to everyone interested in the fashion hype. Direct interaction with the brands and the possibility to buy the newest pieces straight-away (also new!) encourages the fashion crowd to travel to Alt-Treptow, Berlin. We enjoyed some quality time together and had the chance to indulge in some good conversations with the girls from Fleek. Bread&Butter by Zalando 2nd – 4th September 2016 Arena Berlin Eichenstraße 4, 12435 Berlin Germany Opening hours Friday, 2nd September: 4pm – midnight Saturday and Sunday, 3rd and 4th September: 1pm – midnight What To Wear to this location

Dinner in Berlin: The Butcher

Last week we gladly followed an invitation to have dinner at The Butcher in Charlottenburg, near  Savingyplatz. It was a fun night with a handful of other foodie bloggers from in and around Berlin! What we loved most about the restaurant is it’s design: when you enter there is a long counter and the walls have white tiles (just like a real butcher shop!). The next room is a super modern library with some food and design books leading to a winter garden facing the patio. What is so special about the interior design is that there is an open kitchen that you can see from the inside and the outsite. You can actually see the cooks preparing meat in the windows facing the street. I think that is a perfect idea to attract guests! Apart from the nice interior we enjoyed some serious burgers, fries, ribs and corn poppers. Also, I love the fact that there is Brooklyn Lager on the beer menu!
