To love, laughter and happily ever after…!

To love, laughter, and happily ever after…! When two people tie the knot it’s always a special moment. And when these people are close friends of yours it is even more emotional. On the 15th of August my dear friend Isabella married her fiancé and I got invited to their wedding party. It was such a lovely evening with a lot of fun and I was moved to tears. It’s not just a big step in someones life, it’s a memory you will never forget. So intimate, so wonderful. I wish the two all the best for their future together!

August Walks in Paris

Here are some impressions from a very calm and peaceful Paris. Basically, in August the whole French nation leaves for vacation thus many boutiques, restaurants and of course firms in the capital have closed doors. As well the whole Parisian fashion industry takes a break and will be back just in time for New York Fashion Week by the beginning of September, still working on their own Paris FW, which is the last one in row at the end of September. This break only works, because everybody takes it thus no one needs to worry that someone will wait for results – only this collaborative break can work out. All in all the French are just genius in pausing their daily routine and have a distinct sense for enjoying their lives. This once again proves that the saying “Germans live to work and French work to live” is somehow right.

Dear readers, Right now I (Jana) am continuing my studies with a semester abroad. That it why I just moved to Paris! It has long been my dream to study abroad and I chose Paris, since it is the fashion capital of this world thus I will direct my studies towards the creative industries. Hence, from now on we will keep you updated from the origin of two cities- Paris and Berlin! We always love to enhance our blog with an international perspective, therefore we will continue sharing our favorite places, fashion as well as cultural tips and we hope that you enjoy this wider point of view as much as we do.

Marrakech Photodiary I

Marrakech is the most wonderous, wild, beautiful and exciting city in Morocco. You only need to blink and there is another thrilling sensation just around the corner. Still, it is a city of contrast – the big place Jeema al Fna would be sleepy throughout the day but it awakes at night when there are hundreds of food stands offering numerous delicacies. For fashion victims the Souks (huge moroccan market complex offering predominantly leather goods, spices and lamps) are a must – if you know the right places you can shop suede leather bags, scarfs and blouses at low cost but high quality. Always talk to the people working at the stands and only buy where you feel comfortable. Marrakech as well has a new city that has many lovely places to offer, for example the Grand Café de la Post, which has a unique atmosphere as well as a sophisticated menu. Even tough one must be prepared to see snake charmers, some meat stands that do not seem to offer the freshest products, a completely …

Moroccan Rose I

Morocco is simply one of my favorite travel destinations ever. This country has a raw beauty hat isn’t easily found anywhere else. I love the friendliness and kindness of the people, the narrow streets with many artisan galleries and shops, the delicious tangines and peppermint tea and that there is always another treasure waiting around the corner. Tunic and scarf – local artisan shop

BFW S/S 2015: Photo Diary Lavera Showfloor

Sustainability is a topic that concerns all of us and which slowly but surely has found its way into the fashion scene. I think especially nowadays, in times of shocking incidents like the Bangladesh factory collapse, we are more concerned about our clothes’ origin and finally start to ask questions about material, production, working conditions or methods. It is most important that fashion labels react to this customer sensibility hence green fashion is more trendy than ever. The lavera Showfloor, which takes place on occasion of the Berlin Fashion Week, is one of the most important events when it comes to so-called green glamour. On three show days, laver shows designers all over the world that all have one thing in common: their collections are not only highly fashionable but also made under fair circumstances and with sustainable materials. This summer, I was working at the lavera Showfloor and intact responsible for finding these 11 international designers, who fulfill ethical but also fashionable standards. It was definitely a challenging job but I enjoyed every minute …

BFW S/S 2015: Streetstyle

Time is running so fast and there we are again. The fashion madness has returned to Berlin. Yes, it’s Fashion Week, again. Sadly we aren’t in the situation to attend many shows or other events. Jana is working full-time for the Lavera Showfloor (pictures coming soon) and I just finished a whole lot of ballet performances. Nevertheless Fiona and I visited Jana at work and snapped some outfit pictures. I really love her style. Easy-going and so berlinish. Berlin simply isn’t this high-heel, fancy dress and big sunglasses city. It’s different from Paris and Milan, but that makes it even better! Fiona sticked to black and white, a classic combination with a twist (thanks to those sneakers).
