When Jana stayed in New York for an internship I took the chance the join her for six weeks and follow my passion: dancing. It was an amazing time and I have learned so much from taking this step. In a short list I have collected the five things you should always keep in mind when thinking about doing the same thing. 1. Everyone wants to make it in New York. Thus it is very tough working in this city as a dancer. There are so many talented people around who are working their ass off to make it here (this actually fits into every job area in NYC). 2. Dance classes are expensive in New York. An average class (any dance style) costs between 18 und 20 bucks. Not something you can afford on an everyday basis for such a long time. 3. New York, New York, City of endless possibilities, where dreams come true… 1. There is probably nothing you cannot do in New York City. My Ten Favorite Places In New York

1. Probably my favorite place in New York is the Met Museum. I love that you never have to stand in line and can just casually decide to go there and spend the afternoon. I also love that there is so many different kinds of art, you can look at impressionist paintings but as well visit the Egyptian wing or see an exact replica of a Moroccan patio in a Riad. I think you can learn a lot and this museum is one of the greatest there is. 2. When you are living in New York you will soon realize that the Central Park is as essential to your life as the air you are breathing. Literally, when you have passed a week between skyscrapers and in subway tunnels, you will feel like you can finally breathe again once you enter this amazing park. 3. On a beautiful autumn day we grabbed the chance to visit the main campus of the famous Columbia University (hello, Gossip Girl!). The whole area is really beautiful arranged, calm and worth visiting for an afternoon. Instantly you would love to study here just because of the relaxed atmosphere. Since my trip to Washington was just limited to one day, I had to choose in advance where I want to enjoy a good lunch. While searching I came across this place called SKWR kabobline where they serve the eastern art of kabob. At the beginning you choose between bowl (with rice) or wrap and then you start refine it: spreads (e.g. Hummus, Chutney), proteins (e.g. chicken, steak, lamb), toppings (e.g. chickpeas, mint) and sauces (e.g. pesto peste). Culture in Washington: National Gallery of Art

Through my Art History studies I knew that the National Gallery of Art in Washington had a lot of art but when I walked through the breath-taking building I was still mesmerized. The whole museum is so beautifully arranged and the pieces are delicately hanged or placed in the rooms. For a art fan a true bliss! But most of all I was fascinated by the East and West Garden Court – a tropical oasis were I just could have stayed forever. And best part? All of this is for f r e e! If you want to visit this museum make sure to plan your day around it. It takes time but is certainly worth it. New York has so many good brunch places – today we tried another. Jack’s Wife Freda is situated in New York’s cool West Village, on Lafayette Street and a total must for brunch fans like us.
