Lunch in Potsdam: Restaurant Urwaldblick

Since the 1st of December we have a new lunch spot in Potsdam. The Biosphäre Potsdam, whom we have already worked together for a C&A collaboration, is now offering a new lunch menu served at their Restaurant Urwaldblick. The benefits of this? You can now also enjoy a delicious dish here without having to buy a day ticket for the whole complex. Meaning, you can just come and enjoy a good lunch. The restaurant serves international and seasonal dishes, which can be enjoyed under the palms trees of the venue. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the tropical complex and offers an in- and outdoor terrace plus an air-conditioned indoor area. Luckily we had the chance to try their new concept and menu on the opening day. They offer a weekly changing lunch menu as well as a fixed one. On that day we all went for something from their lunch menu and were really happy with the outcome. Along the main dish we had a seasonal soup. I tried the halloumi …

Lunch in Berlin: Café Oliv / Oliv Eat

Whereas Café Oliv in Münzstraße is already established in Berlin Mitte for a while, now the second café/restaurant of the two owners opened at Potsdamer Straße. Last week, we checked out both locations. Both are stylish in a minimalistic way – the color oliv is like a red thread and pops up every now and then, for example in form of the beautiful chairs in Oliv Eat. The food is similarly simple but delicious: I enjoyed some pasta with asparagus, peas and some very light white wine sauce – it was a perfect lunch dish! Coffee in Berlin: Bacis Coffee

When you enter the daily life of a student you quickly notice that coffee is a necessity for most of them. And yes, we actually count to this group. However, the coffee offered at the cafeteria is not that outstanding which is why we are constantly searching for great coffee spots closely located to our institute. Last year I stumbled across Bacis Coffee close to the subway station Dahlem Dorf and was instantly in love with their welcoming atmosphere and the delicious coffee they serve. You can really taste the coffee and are always treated with a small cookie (all café spots out there: a little sweet treat accompanying your coffee makes the costumer really happy – simple and easy!). They also serve some delicious lunch dishes, fresh bagels and some yummy cakes/cookies. Lunch in Berlin: Cecconi’s

This week I was finally able to try out Cecconi’s, newest extension to Soho House Berlin. The restaurant serves fine Italian food and has an extensive menu satisfying every taste. We enjoyed a wide variation of dishes and can definitely recommend the meatballs, tatar and grilled fish. Apart from the excellent food, I love Cecconi’s interior, which is a gathering of huge, red chesterfield sofas, heavy wooden tables and giant chandeliers, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Lunch in Potsdam: Fahland Bistro

Last month the bakery chain Fahland (to be found in Potsdam and the surrounding area) opened a bistro in the heart of Potsdam. This is a new addition to their former concept. Along with their baked goods they offer sandwiches, soups, quiches, hearty salads, cakes and little tartlets. The interior is nicely chosen: warm and welcoming (created by Martina Haag). But I was really disappointed by the service. The seller behind the counter seemed stressed and annoyed by someone ordering something. And this actually has a whole impact on your visit. The coffee wasn’t hot enough from the beginning which is why it cooled out too quickly. In total it was nice to try and the food was good but I guess I will not come back because of the unfriendly service and the cold coffee. Dinner in New York: Gotham West Market

New York is mostly a forerunner in many categories, this also applies to food. During my time in New York I discovered that they have a lot of these so called markets. Here you find different little vendors which offer a variety of food. The most famous is probably Chelsea Market in the Meatpacking district area. But its always packed with tourists. So, here we have something more delicate for you. The Gotham West Market is located in the Hell’s Kitchen area and offers a delicious list of culinary offerings. It’s a place where young people meet and hang-out in the evening. I can highly recommend Ivan Ramen Slurp soup (Breakfast All Day Ramen and the Shrimp Buns – delicious!) , Ample Hills ice cream (post coming soon on this) and the Blue Bottle coffee (see our experience about this here!). Lunch in New York: by Chloe.

If there is one thing that is unique about New York, it’s its culinary diversity. I am pretty sure that there is nearly nothing than you cannot find in this city, no matter what cuisine and style it is. By Chloe is a place that offers a healthy alternative to fast food – I would describe it as a hybrid fast food restaurant, since you get your food at the counter but still the atmosphere/interior is nice and you can sit down to eat after you took your order. The menu is heaven for health-freaks, vegans, vegetarians and all kinds of foodies. There are super nice salads (we can recommend the Quinoa Taco Salad!), as well as vegetarian burgers and the complementary sweet potato fries, which cannot be missing either! As in every in-place in New York, you’ll have to be a little patient to find a seat, since the place is usually packed. Ordering the food on the other hand is super fast and there is good service. Lunch in Erfurt: Mundlandung

Thanks to a one day trip to Erfurt I had the chance to try this cozy place. Mundlandung is a delicatessen store and bistro destination at the same time. The food is fresh and absolutely delicious. The two dishes you see in the pictures are part of their daily menu. In the morning they also serve breakfast, if you should be looking for something like that. The dishes aren’t that cheap but the quality is price matching. Price $$$$$ // Service ☆☆☆☆☆ // Location ☆☆☆☆☆ // Taste ☆☆☆☆☆ Mundlandung Krämerbrücke 28 99084 Erfurt What To Wear to this location

Lacoste Blogger Workshop

Some days ago, we were lucky enough to be invited to the Lacoste blogger event in Frankfurt am Main, where their male perfume collection “Eau de Lacoste” was presented. We had an exceptionally lovely day and were welcomed warmly by the team of Headspace PR. What followed was a perfect mix of hanging out with lovely people, enjoying the sun, learning and discovering interesting facts about perfume and indulging a delicious menu. We enjoyed a menu created in all five colors of the fragrance line – blue, red, white, yellow and black. For each course, the table decoration was adjusted so it would fit the color of the respective dish, in order to fortify the colored experience. One of this day’s highlights was that we were able to assist the great cooking team with the two main courses and were especially happy to learn some tips how to prepare the recipes ourselves. Apart from this, a professional color psychologist and the Lacoste perfume developer enlightened the group with intriguing knowledge about scents and their different appeals. All in all, we can tell …

Coffee in Berlin: Café Neundrei

A couple of days ago I attended the opening of the Café Neundrei a place where you will find delicious coffee and vegan treats. Since more people are becoming aware of their daily nutrition we love to share this location with you. For your coffee you can choose between normal milk, soya milk, lactose-free milk and almond milk (coasting 50cents extra). Also, next to the normal coffee treats, you will be able to find Matcha Latte (€ 3.80), Chai Latte (€ 3.20) and some Superfood Smoothies (€ 4.50). Along with a delicious coffee you should definitely enjoy a vegan bread with fresh filling such as avocado, spinach leaves and cress (starting at € 3.90). Also their vegan apple cake or their banana bread is worth a try – a freshly baked by themselves.
