Beauty Issue: Hypoallergenic Cosmetics

Since I was small, my skin has been quite sensitive. I struggled with finding the right make-up, that suited my skin and I didn’t react to. That’s why in general I’ve always been attentive when it comes to buying make-up as well as skin care. Just in time for #sensitiveskinweek, we had the chance to check out some of Bell’s hypoallergenic products, which are especially made for tender skin. They products come in beautiful colors and make your skin feel soft but strong, when you wear them. Additionally, we can say that the price is more than fair. We opted for the primer, which is a light make-up base – especially good for the warmer days and makes sure that your light make-up stays perfect during the day. Apart from that, the long & volume mascara can be used for a more extravagant look – preferably during warm summer nights! Lastly, the lipstick has a smooth consistency, making your lips feel moist and soft throughout the day – we chose a light pink that goes well …

June’s Favorites

Our this months beauty favorites are… Velvet Touch Mascara by Artdeco I was talking to a good friend at the ballet studio the other day and told her that I was looking for a good, not too expensive mascara. I have been using one by Artdeco already but she recommended me this one and so far I really like it. Easy to apply and a beautiful design. Thanks for sharing, Saskia. Balm-to-oil by Biotherm I normally wear make-up really rarely. Sometimes all I need is a swish of mascara and thats it. But during the summer season I have to apply a lot of make up because of my performances on stage. Any make-up remover has been really disappointing so far but this creamy substance has helped me to get ride of all that foundation and eyeshadow plastered on my face. Water, mint and cucumber deodorant by CD I spotted this deodorant in my Mums bathroom and have instantly fallen in love with the fresh, summerly smell. It really helps you to get through a …

Ballet Nails with NeoNail

For us, neat and nice nails should just be a standard in every woman’s beauty routine. However, we all know, that’s easier said than done! Especially as a dancer, nails have to endure a lot: some choreographies include dancing on the ground, rolling over, steadying oneself on one arm… Additionally, in Ballet, it’s normally not allowed to wear apparent nail colors like red or dark colors, because as a dancer you are playing a role and the wrong nail polish can destroy a whole character. When you’re a guest at a ballet performance in the theatre on the other hand, you certainly dress up and to every night out dress belongs the right nail polish. Today, in friendly cooperation with NeoNail, we would like to show you two ways of styling your hands in a perfect dancer’s style: First, as a ballet dancer in a soft rose nude, and secondly, as a spectator at the theatre, wearing a glamorous outfit! Here’s our Step By Step Guide to beautiful dancer’s nails:  Our nail look for a …

May’s Favorites

This time, our May’s Favorites are all about rose… Eyelash Curler by Charlotte Tilbury Recently, there has been a big launch of Charlotte Tilbury products in KaDeWe Berlin – as we all know, she’s the goddess of the make-up world and everyone craves her products! It’s no surprise I fell in love with her perfect eyelash curler in sweet rose gold!  Body Slim Global Slimming Concentrate by Lierac   Cellulite is a lot talked about topic and there are many different approaches – in my opinion, precaution is best. In my family there’s a history of weak connective tissue thus cellulite… Therefore, I like to already take some supportive measures from time to time (besides fitness, naturally). Lierac actually has a patent on their body slimming concentrate and so far I can confirm that my skin feels tighter (and the smell is gorgeous as well!). Hydra-Body Lait by Lierac  Complementary to the slimming concentrate, one should use a hydra-lotion in order to keep the sky hydrated and smooth. I chose the hydra-body last by Lierac, because it works …

#duftezeit

Last Friday the team of Headspace PR and COTY invited us once more to an exceptional blogger get-together in Frankfurt am Main. Everything was just perfect! The location, the setting, the food and the people. It was an absolutely phenomenal afternoon. Center of attention were the fragrances by Esprit, Mexx, Bruno Banani and James Bond. For each one of them the team created special workshops. We made flower bouquets, tried to form blossom shaped ice cream, learned about dos and don’ts when visiting metropolises and created our own gif. And of course they spoiled us with delicious hearty food and lovely sweet treats. A big thank you to the lovely team and all those busy bees who helped to make this afternoon a memorable one. We are looking forward to more fun workshops and events.

Beauty in Berlin: Shan’s Beauty

A couple of days ago, we spent a more than lovely morning at Shan’s True Beauty Lounge, situated directly at Kurfürstendamm. We really loved that, finally, there’s a similar concept in Berlin as the New York one, which are „blow dry“ bars, where you can go and let your hair be washed and styled so that you can start the day right! Apart from the brilliant hairstyling we also got some beautiful manicures. There is a variety of nail polishes to choose from – all lovely colors. Altogether, we can only recommend to check out Shan’s Beauty Lounge if you have a minute, you can just walk in without an appointment! The prices are also moderate – you’ll get a manicure with nail polish for 20€ and a blow dry for 35€. February’s Favorites

It’s time for another update on our three favorite beauty products of February. Detox Mask Tonerde Absolue by L’oréal The new detox masks by L’oréal have been advertised largely. Nevertheless, I have to say that they convinced me. I try to use the mask once a week (on Sundays there is always some beauty time!) and I can feel an effect. My skin feels clearer and more balanced. Perfect Match Highlighter by L’oréal  When I was on a girl’s weekend in Palma de Mallorca this year, a friend of mine introduced me to the perks of highlighter. I’m not that much of a make-up girl in terms of concealer, foundation or rouge (I always try to let my skin breathe as much as possible!) but I couldn’t argue that a little sparkle on the cheek bone adds to a more fresh and beautiful face, instantly. Lacoste pour Elle Magnetique Eau de Parfum  I’ve been in love with the Lacoste scents since we’ve been to the Lacoste perfume event in Frankfurt two years ago. For some …

January’s Favorites

The first month of the year is coming to an end and we are happy to share some of our favorite beauty / accessories additions with you. Half-moon necklace from H&M I bought this little cute necklace last week since it perfectly matches my kind-off jewelry obsession. It’s delicate, a little sparkly and offers a nice highlight to any casual outfit combination. Real Techniques makeup brushes These brushes make the application of makeup fun and easy. The brush itself is soft and the brand offers a good variety of products. Great quality for a great price. They are not as expensive as the Zoeva brushes but just as good. Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days nail polish Super easy to apply and a nice shade (Rose Veil nr. 882) for the season. I have not tried if they really stay for 7 days but it worked for three. Pulse Points

If you are applying a fragrance you want to feel good and others should notice it otherwise its a waste of time and money. Perfume can have a powerful effect on your confidence and mood so it should work to its maxim. Pulse points, or anywhere you can find a heartbeat are traditionally recommended as spots to apply a fragrance on. The majority of those physical locations are linked with kissing potential and therefore loaded with a certain seduction level. These points include for example the base of the throat, the inside of the wrists and the decollate, making the fragrance narrative both logical and utterly romantic with her code. Christmas is probably the best season of the year to give away a little scented bottle. We can highly recommend the Hugo Boss The Scent fragrance for her (seen in these pictures) and him. Both offer the right amount of seduction and feel-good-mood you are instantly hocked. [show_shopthepost_widget id=“2216076″]

Hugo Boss. The Scent

Boss The Scent is the smell of a hard-working, cosmopolitan, sensual, elegant and strong woman. When I first smelled the fragrant, I was instantly hooked and thought it was the perfect combination of sexy and sweet. It is quite intense and has a note of cocoa. I also instantly liked the elegant bottle, it somehow reminds me of New York’s skyscrapers like the Empire State Building and I have to think about the time I lived in that huge and mesmerizing city not so long ago… What To Wear with this scent [show_shopthepost_widget id=“1888915″]
